How long could you manage without it? Do you have any kind of plan in case you were to ever be without the resources you are accustomed to?
NO ELECTRICITY

I don't really have a plan -- just happen to have lots of candles and matches/lighters, blankets, some canned goods.
I need to gather up the flashlights and keep them in one place, though. I have a few, but can never find them when I need them. We'd last at least a weekend without too much sweat...

I could go a long time, I have a generator and battery backups for some things.
I have had to do 5 days once, maintaining a huge saltwater aquarium with no power is a pain in the ass. Fridge and freezer were not all that hard though, a couple hours a day on the gen will keep them cold.

The 200 gallon propane tank would keep my generator running for about 2.5 months. I really should get a battery backup though maybe an old army battery or something.
He ain't heavy, he's my brother.

Went for a week and a half once when we had an ice storm. Luckily it was in March and the weather after was not freezing. Plus I had a gas stove for cooking. Kept stuff cool on the patio. Lost some meat from freezer though.
Just the other night we lost power for about an hour. Panic in the streets.
