Oh yes
Want a list of my "hobbies"?
06-28-2014, 07:43 AM
Yes, I do. Once I read about everyone's bad spending habits I will no longer feel bad about buying an insane number of bras that I don't need.

LOL, well let me see if I can help you with that seff esteem issue there Duchess...
Most recently its RC aircraft, helicopters, airplanes and all the bits and pieces that go along with that. I have 3 helicopters, 4 quad copters, 1 complete airplane and several in various stages of completion. Then there are the accessories, lice video cameras, transmitters, all the parts to build a ground station etc.. All together probably $3k worth of stuff Blacksmithing, Anvil, small gas forge, 15 pairs of Tongs, steel stock laying around and all the parts to build 2 more large gas forges and 3 heat treating ovens: fire brick, insulation, burner parts, controllers...probably another grand. Archery I started making Bows and Arrows a few years back, I have 4 compounds, 3 recurves and 3 Long Bows complete and the material to build several more long bows. I have several dozen arrows almost complete and a couple boxes of Fletching material, Dyes, tools and accessories for arrow making. Amateur Radio I have been a HAM for many years and have 5 operational radios and a couple more in boxes. More tools than I can count, 2 large roll around boxes, a benchtop combo mill, drill, lathe, 4 bench grinders, 1 belt grinder, 2 welders, cutting torches... Camping Gear Way too much to list, I could outfit 3 families, no problem Unknown qty of fishing rods feeling better yet...?

IDT all that stuff is a waste Six. All of it sounds useful. Except maybe the RC stuff. Lol.
I don't consider buying stuff that gets used a waste of money. I used to buy a lot of books. I love to read. Some I kept and some I donated to the library or shared with friends when I was done. Now I buy books on my kindle. Wasting money to me is buying stuff that doesn't get used. Or worn. Throwing away good that doesn't get eaten or leaving the lights or TV on irritates me. I am not cheap by any means but I hate waste. I do have a problem with wasting money on Coach bags. I just bought another one last week. I do NOT need anymore bags. I made a deal with myself that I would not but anymore bags for at least a year. And I'm going to take the ones I don't use to the consignment shop. I gave one brand new never used one to a friend to give to her daughter. I need Coach rehab.

Actually, I don't have an issue with self-esteem, if I didn't think my hooters looked so goddamn fantastic in all these pretty bras I'd stop buying 'em. I think your hobby stuff sounds like fun & like Ramsey, I don't consider it a waste as long as it gets used.

I seem to piss away a lot of money on stuff to make my life more convenient.

Not so much anymore.
Pretty happy that I've changed my spending habits.

I really should start selling some coins but I love them all and need a 1909 VDB-s in better condition than fine. I did get rid of 20-30 Morgans a few months ago but that was a kinda charity thing.
Like six I love my fishing stuff and was just at a gun show last week and fell in love with a Winchester 92 44⁄40 (I love watching the rifleman)
He ain't heavy, he's my brother.

If I am still thinking about it the next day, I go and get it. Then you don't feel bad, because it's a choice and not impulse spending.

What do you like to spend money on, Aussie? Are you a clothes horse? Footwear? Handbags? Kitchen gadgets & Le Creuset cookware?

This week I bought an addidas hoodie and matching pants. They are awesome. I love them. I love my firepit I have bought, I spent $10.90 buying 60kg of wood for it, what a bargain. I love a bargain. I brag about bargains, but not something I pay full price for. I love Christian Dior Poison perfume, I have Chanel glasses as I am as blind as a bat. I buy this and that, I am not one for debt, so I pay cash. I like good quality. I don't mind finding bargains, for example, the firestarters I can buy for $2 in the cheap shop is better than the ones in the supermarket which are brand name and more expensive but not as good. I am not a shopaholic because I like to save, but it's all about balance and being sensible. I am not cheap when it comes to bras my bras are good quality and pretty.

To be honest, what money? I wish I was rich so that I could help others.

Money holds power. I know a few people with a great deal of money and while this doesn't apply to all of them it applies to the majority, they have more money than brains. Every single time I think about this I think of the owner who sent a psychiatrist to spend time with his injured racehorse here. Jeezus.

I sometimes spend money eating out or going places when we could eat in or do something that doesn't cost any money. At times, I think it's wasteful, but usually consider it a good investment -- it's fun.
I don't waste money on tangibles, though, because I don't really need or want a lot of new things. |
