ISRAEL VS. PALESTINE...AGAIN
rothschild, I just saw it reported that one of Bibi's aides has said Israel will accept President Biden's ceasefire plan. I want to believe that.   Smiley_emoticons_slash

Israel is at war with Hamas and Hezbollah, and is committing genocide. Hamas and Hezbollah are winning, and if Israel continues to target civilians it's only a matter of time before regional nations decide to intervene militarily.

It's time for a permanent solution that includes the dismantling of Israeli apartheid, and there's never been a better time to make it happen.

Some of you will remember the young woman on the back of the motorcycle being kidnapped by Hamas back in October, she was crying and reaching her hands out to her boyfriend who was prevented from helping her. She was rescued along with 3 others. It's being reported that during the rescue 270 Palestinians were killed and 700 injured. What the heck happened that it killed and injured so many? It doesn't sound like a "surgical" strike to me.

They look like they were treated humanely, physically and psychologically. Contrasted with the pictures I've seen of the thousands of Palestinian detainees, it's like night and day.

I hope you get humanely kidnapped for a year.

You know what's funny? The hostages are worth more to Hamas than they are to Israel. Israel has killed more than 40 of them.

It's sick actually, but not surprising given Israel's history. They kill Palestinians 24/7, but hey, it's not like you give a shit.

Privileged twat.

"Detained" without due process. About 3500 at present.

Chappelle summed it up pretty well.

I've heard that appr. 2 million Israelis have left, and probably aren't going back. Not because of Oct. 7, because Iran showed the world that Israel's air defenses are far from being impenetrable. Million dollar missiles shoot down $2,000 drones, and then enemy missiles go in and strike their targets. And no end in sight. Whoever takes over from Yahu isn't going to change that reality. Israel fucked up responding the way that it did, just as Hamas hoped it would, and the US isn't going to make it all better.

How the mighty have fallen.

Why does our country help Israel to the extent that we do? They are not our friend! That's the one thing that continues to go through my head on a near daily basis.

Because of organizations like the ADL. If you ask that kind of question you're an "antisemite", which can be career suicide, the end result of which is self-censorship.

I see that everyday! People who share my opinion are allowed to have our opinions, we are entitled to them! Just because we don't support Israel's indiscriminate bombing we are labeled antisemite. I'm nobody so I rarely care what strangers think, but there are those who do care a great deal and they are being bullied into keeping their opinion/s to themselves.

Israel has spent a great many billions of dollars through the decades convincing people around the world that it's a victim. What Israel achieved is being undone by it's own actions. It is being hoist by it's own petard, as the saying goes, and all because it believed itself to be invulnerable. If Israel had exercised restraint it would have achieved a great political victory and Hamas would have suffered a crushing defeat.

I think it's fair to say at this point that Hamas understands Israel better than Israel does. It recognized the situation for what it is and undertook an extremely risky gambit, in large part because it had very little to lose; Israel, on the other hand, had everything to lose.

The most dangerous opponent is the one that has nothing to lose. Israel understood that at one point in time. It became drunk on it's own power and forgot. It's still dangerous but the fear that people once had for it has been replaced by revulsion.

Once a bully has been stood up to it's days are numbered.

Only moments ago the White House cancelled a high level meeting with Israeli officials because of Bibi's ridiculous stunts. Good! Apparently the officials were already on the way to DC.
