Now a Carnival Cruise ship is involved, Texas hospital nurse aboard quarantined to cabin, un-freekin believable!

The ship has been denied docking at ports of call, can't blame them.

There is a reason for this. The President put someone that has a keen sense of deflection in charge, someone that was working for Biden as chief of staff and explained Mr. Bidens gaffs and irregularities with stunning theatrical deftness. The President can now get back to serious issues and return to attending fundraisers and golf. He is now insulated from getting the blame on this issue and if it goes south he can just blame Klain and get another pal in there. I am sure this paper pusher and political operative can attend any and all meetings regarding the Ebola (non-crisis) outbreak.
The government is here to help with this crisis with as much money that's needed from the taxpayers of our great nation. Trust them and feel good, X-mas is coming so start thinking of spending money.
And remember the President "has Americas back" because he most certainly won't stand in front of you.

Actually, Senegal was declared Ebola free on Friday. The CDC announced today that it will update protocalls for healthcare workers who treat ebola-infected patients. The guidelines will call for the use of anterooms for donning and removing protective gear, as well as a buddy system in which caregivers will check one another.

Some states have enacted a mandatory 21 day quarantine.

New Jersey was one of them.

Mad Nurse

I agree a plastic tent and a box is rather inhumane. They need to set up nice quarters if they are going to impose mandatory quarantine.

Is this nurse being arrogantly selfish?

I think it's a matter of principle for her now. She wants to demonstrate that, absent any symptoms of the illness, she's not infectious and it's wrong to quarantine her and others returning from Africa.

The science so far supports her. Maybe if Amber Vincent had contaminated a bunch of people on her travels (which remains to be seen), I'd feel differently but I think the states that are mandating quarantines are shooting the rest of us in the foot. Fewer healthcare workers are going to be willing to travel to Africa under those conditions.

Ebola is the new AIDS.

I think she is being selfish. Why not err on the side of caution? This isn't really the time to make a statement.

She's not only doing it for herself, she's doing it for all the aid workers that have or are thinking about traveling to Ebola land. I think it's fine to subject those people to daily reporting but locking them up when they have no symptoms is an effort to fight hysteria; not necessary based on science.

Again, if the doctor that has it infected someone at the bowling alley I might reconsider but so far, no one here has been infected by casual contact.

I don't mind the ban on air travel, public transportation and such because infecting a plane full of people would be disastrous but regular day to day activities don't really bother me. I wish that nurse luck visiting her local grocery store though. She'd probably get treated like a leper. Kind of like the first thousands of AIDs patients.
