Speaking only for myself - I don't have a problem with immigrants embracing their culture, religion or anything else that makes them uniquely them. My problem stems from those who come here and don't want to live by the laws of the land, those who do not make an effort to acclimate themselves nor learn the language. We speak English here and I have the expectation that those who want to live here will learn the language in order to communicate. Those are the people who should be pressing #1, not me. I could go further and talk about Sharia law, it has no place here, we live by American laws.
I wouldn't dare compare Mock to any of this but I will say that when new people register here it's up to them to acclimate to our site, it's not up to us to change things in order to make them feel comfortable. I have a take it or leave attitude about that the same way I have it about people who immigrate here.
This is the one thing I agree with most of y'all on.If you want to live in the US you must learn to speak English.
And of course live by the laws here.This is the one thing I would agree on deporting someone.If they break major laws they should get the boot.
As for everything else no.It's a free country in terms of being able to choose your religion, dress, habits and anything that is legal for you to fancy.

I scratch my ass at home every once in a while, but I wouldn't stand out on my front lawn and force people to tolerate it, and I certainly wouldn't try and jump into a public pool with my street clothes on.
She wants to come over here and where a burkha all day in her house, that's fine, I could care less, but to put up a stink because she was denied access to a public place? How would the lifeguard know whether it was a guy or girl under there? What if it was some pervert trying to a camera or something?
There's all sorts of reasons to be intolerant out in the world today, according to you that makes us all ignorant, too?

Uhm yah if you can't learn to tolerate a group or groups of people ethnically diverse from you because of the way they dress, speak, act, then yeah..ignorant on all counts.

I don't think this has anything to do with being intolerant of any group of people, denying them access to a public pool in street clothes.
There are all kinds of problems with that and none of them racist.
I couldn't give a shit less where someone is from or what rock they choose to worship, as long as they come here to fit in, not force me to fit them.
Break the laws and you should be gone, Period, just like most of the rest of the world.

IronB; The USA is very tolerant and that is major reason some terrorists have entered our country with intent to do unspeakable harm to our citizens. We need to tighten our borders. I cannot got to another country as do as I damn please. I have to follow that country's laws or I will get thrown in the slammer.
I have always been a tolerant person, and early on (before PC), I believed in equal rights for all. You immigrate here to live a better life, fine, but don't make me change my world to fit your beliefs. Some of you pretend not to speak English and I know you do. Some of you believe that women are second class citizens and honor killings is still an active practice. You can't do that here in the U.S. However, here in Arizona, a Muslim father ran over his daughter and killed her because she had become to Americanized. Well, duh, I resent that you come here and try to build your own little city with all of your intolerance, in American cities and feel you should not be subjected to our laws...Of course, this doesn't apply to the many people who come here and abide by laws of our land. These people wanted to escape the dictatorships and intolerance of their own countries and they are welcome.....and yes, I get nervous when I see the turbans, burkas, robes, etc...there could be a hidden bomb. As a citizen who almost has to undress at the airport screening, taking off hats, coats, shoes, etc, I resent those that want to go through Security without removing same because it goes against their religion. I say bullshit to that. The End (for now)

I don't care if someone wants to jump in the pool at my gym wearing a burka as long as I'm there to watch it. I'd even pay a small admission fee to see that and watch all the people around the pool react.
