The 2015 trivial drivel thread
#81
I'm in over my head. I decided to remodel my son's room and restore the 60 year old wood flooring underneath the carpet. Restoring an old wood floor sounded a lot easier in my mind. Now I got a big mess and all my son's shit is taking up my daughter's room and the hallway, I can't even get in the bathroom. It's going to take me a year to strip, sand, stain and seal it.

I can't stand that shit. It makes me crazy and I'm going to blame the parent. If you can't speak properly, learn! They pass that crap onto their kids. Unless there is a medical reason every single person has the ability to speak clearly. Over the weekend I saw at least one multimillionaire speak for 30-60 seconds and I couldn't understand a word he said. There's no excuse for that.

^ I understand what you're saying, Duchess.

I mean, if the parents are black and/or the parents are always high as an effin' kite whilst getting freaky with saltines, they have no one to blame but themselves when their kid grows up to be a mush-mouthed multi-millionaire! It's sad.

I rarely make fun of those with inherited or learned impediments, but sometimes mush-mouths are kinda funny -- especially when they cuss.

I think that good parents play a role in their children's education, they want to see it done right. There are a shit ton of multimillionaire football players who can't speak properly. This doesn't apply to all of them but enough of them that it's noticeable. I've seen many black people speak as well as I do and then I've heard those that I don't even have to see to know immediately upon hearing them that they are black. Now that I've thought about this a little more I'll blame the teachers too.

Yeah. That's how I know they're capable of doing so and exactly why I think there is no excuse not to.

If a pup is born and grows and is left to chase chickens, unfettered, how is it to know the average farmer considers it untrained, a menace and something of no value?

Yeah, I know, we're both arguing the same point.

Yeah, I confess -- I'm just playing with Duchess.

I'm sorry Duchess. The Urban Dictionary isn't really a trusted and credible knowledge bank and should not be taken seriously. You're shocked, I know.

In all seriousness, mush-mouth is a very real problem. It spans all races. Parents should try to correct that shit early. Teachers too.

I'm kinda shocked pharma hasn't developed a pill for it yet. However, I understand that there is a medicinal marijuana strain that helps alleviate mush-mouth symptoms. Unfortunately, it isn't prescribed often due to a rather serious side-effect (chronic cotton mouth). Smiley-rolling-joint

My husband is finally getting his new Jeep today. I'm not even sure exactly what model he's getting. I wonder if it will look like a war truck. I already said my son is horrified about it. I'm not sure why. I'll snap a pic later.

Vroom!!
I should tell my son it could be worse. He could have bought a Hummer or something.

I do know he got a hard top something. He wants to take it up to our cabin and "explore the back roads and country". He'll probably roll the stupid thing. I think he's had the longest mid-life crisis in history.

Are y'all interested in knowing how your meat gets a start with the farmer and its journey to the store? I'd be delighted to tell you AND show you.

Yeah, it looks like a war machine. He got the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Trail Ready whatever else it's name...

I asked him if he was happy and he said "not really". Apparently he's missing the smooth ride he had in his Lexus. Dumb-dumb. I give it 6 months (if that) before he suggests we need a 3rd car.

ETA: I bet the tires for that stupid thing cost a fortune.

Brrrrr. I won't complain about my measly -11 degrees. There were reports of school closings today on my news last night because of the extreme cold.

Why would your son have a problem with it?

He's a snobby, spoiled little bastard?

I don't know. I guess he doesn't think they're "cool". About 4 years ago, I had to rent a car for a day and just for kicks I rented a VW bug (you know, a punch buggy). I went to the school parking lot to pick up my kids as usual and BOTH of them turned around and walked home as opposed to getting in that car with me. I guess they didn't think VW's were cool either. Little snots.
