I just had the opportunity to watch it in full.
I've always thought that I've understood why Mr. Lurie took the risk he did with a college coach and I still feel that way, even here at the end of my very sucky season I am glad he took such a risk. I'm not going to bitch about my dashed hopes for my team.
I think the only players who liked Chip were the kids, and only because they didn't know any better.
I want to keep Sam.
I'm concerned about someone new coming in and getting rid of those I think are very productive players like Malcolm and Darren and quite a few others.
I don't know enough about football to speak of 4-3, 3-4 or whatever the hell it's called, I only know I have concerns about losing good people. Was there any talk about who the GM will be? Please say it was confirmed that Roseman will NOT resume as GM? Please?

He was asked straight up that exact question and he didn't answer it. He didn't rudely ignore it but he simply began talking about Howie, Don and himself working together.
He's been spending time with the players, he said there had been a players only meeting this morning and there would be another one this afternoon as well as meeting with individual players. I took him to be sincere in his concern for them in the middle of this shit storm. He addressed a question about a new coach and the kinds of things he was looking for and one of the things he said was that he must have a heart. I found that interesting.

I'm really hoping for a new GM. Putting Roseman back in will just put us back even further.
I don't think Chip is a bad guy. I just don't think he likes being social which can give him a bad rep. I do think he's too arrogant though. Had he agreed to just coach he'd probably still be there, but his arrogance led to his demise. There's been a lot of talk about him going to the SEC. I'm sorry but I just don't see that happening. To coach in the SEC you NEED to be social. Coaches in the SEC spend a great deal of time with the media, boosters, alumni etc... I'd also be surprised if any NFL team showed any interest in him for the same reasons that got him fired in Philly. Chip may well have screwed himself over pretty good in this deal.

Which reminds me... Did you see the presser where someone turned the lights off on him the day before he got fired? That was some cold hearted shit right there.

I didn't see it but I heard about it.
I think the Titans will take a chance on Chip.

I think the Titans will take a chance on Chip. If it wasn't for the locker room mumbling about players not getting along with him I might agree, but a tight locker room is a must for turning a team around. Anything is possible though.

Yeah, Marcus Smith told a reporter he was ecstatic. Some dudes need to learn when not to talk.

I know I'm jinxing my club, but I feel like we're going to win in GB Sunday night.
If we win, however, we get the Seahawks at home the first week of the playoffs.
If we lose, we play @ GB again (if Seahawks win). If Seahawks also lose, we'd play @ Washington.
None of those scenarios seem all that inviting.

Maclin doesn't care about Chip. He got more money to go back home and take his old coach to the playoffs...
Quote:"I was ecstatic," Smith said following Wednesday's practice when asked what his initial reaction was to the news of Kelly's release. "I didn't expect it to happen right when it did. I didn't think it was going to happen. I know speculation, that everybody was was talking about it on ESPN. I was actually getting a massage when it happened. I really can't tell you how it happened. It just did."
Smith later clarified his comments to NJ Advance Media that he meant to express surprised, rather than excited by the news of his former head coach's firing.

I think he's focused on the current task at hand, but everybody enjoys a little "fuck you and the horse you rode in on" to some extent. It gives him closure.

Jeremy is a class act. He has never struck me as the type to take pleasure in the misfortune of others and I think he's exactly where he wants to be with no regrets. Of course I don't KNOW any of this, it's just my opinion.

I just don't see what he'd have against Chip. The impression I got was that he was not friends with DJax. I guess maybe he could have been miffed that Foles and McCoy got traded? What else did Chip do to Maclin? Howie put him on a 1 yr deal to prove himself after the injury. Then JMac had a career year under Kelly and chose to leave.
