Leaving the legalities out, could you argue that one is more dangerous than the other?
Does anyone drink everyday or smoke weed everyday?
I would much rather someone use medical marijuana than pills for pain. I wish it were more widely accepted.
I do not drink or smoke anymore.
Love Child, I agree on the pot for pain. We under treat pain in our society. I recall the year or so before my mother died, and doctor was reluctant to give her pain pills for her sciatic pain...She was 87 as I recall and the Doctor said he didn't want her to get addicted....I think I probably fainted at that point from shock that an educated person (and a doctor) really said that.....I have taken all the big ones, hydrocodone, oxycontin, etc...for rotator cuff surgery, shingles, infected appendix with gangrene....I hate them because you can't poop for years. I did go to pain clinics and tried the shots in the spine, etc, but nothing worked....We (as a Nation) need to recognize the medical benefits of pot and quit being so up tight about something that actually does have some positive uses (in addition to feeling high); it doesn't stop your pooping (or so I have been told).
Also if you have an addictive personality, those pain pills are really bad....
How many years did you smoke? It is not an easy thing to do. I quit after 50 years of smoking. Hopefully you won't have any repercussions from smoking health wise.

My mom once told me that back in the day smoking was marketed as being sexy and cool and I've old ads that depict that.

I smoked for about 10 years.
An 87 year old getting addicted! Now isn't that something. What a comment!
From what I understand some if not most medical grade pot will not get you the high feeling.

I'm not even that old and I remember when people use to smoke everywhere. Hospitals, restaurants, department stores, the grocery store...

I'm now noticing I fucked up my post by leaving out an entire word. I've SEEN old ads. Jesus.
Smoke doesn't bother me and I would never tell a guest to go outside and do it but I know people who do, the same people that make guests take their shoes off before coming into their home.

Anyone who smokes in a non smokers house is an asshole. Anyone who goes outside to smoke at a non smokers or smokers home and then throws their butt in their yard...asshole too.

We even smoked in the movie theaters....just literally, everywhere..
If you watch any old movies, most characters smoke, women and men, and I recall, that, my guy would light his cigarette and mine at the same time, then hand me my fag....Yes, like Aussie, we also called them fags.....
Before they separated smokers in aircraft cabins ( ), the cabins were so full of smoke, that even if you didn't smoke, you smelled like it when you deplaned. Smoke permeated everything. Doctors sat on edge of desk (in magazine ads) and proudly tell u why they smoked camels.....

I would prefer people not wear shoes in the house because when you stop to realize that your shoes have walked on the most disgusting things in the world, it makes you somewhat neurotic. My son's ex mother-in-law had white carpets and he always took off his shoes at her request. Some people know that i prefer "no shoes" policy, but I don't make a big deal out of it.
Smoking today in someone's home is just not acceptable. If you ever want to sell home, you have to sign paper that noone has ever smoked...blah...blah...You should always ask people to go outside to smoke even if it is O.K. with you.....You could die of second hand smoke...

I want those I invite into my home to feel comfortable. I'm not asking them to remove their shoes or refrain from smoking. I want them to feel relaxed & happy to be here. I'll even serve them but there will be no sandwich making, they are welcome to help themselves.

So you're ok with having a completely empty fridge after me and my brother visit you for a day?

You wouldn't do that. I doubt you'd even help yourself. Why is your brother coming? I don't know him and he treats you badly, I'd have to hit him with my handbag.

No smoking allowed in my house or car. We always take our shoes off when we come in. The kids just do it automatically and have since they were little. I don't make people take their shoes off though. I have all wood floors on the main level so it's easy to clean up anything. I'm constantly seeping and mopping anyway because of the dogs. I want people to be comfortable in my home. I'm CASA es su CASA. Or something like that.

Yes
Duchess, Cosmo sends his warmest regards
He is helping the landscapers cut down the twisted filbert. It has been healthy and beautiful for 35 years and suddenly died. It showed no blooms this spring.

Cosmo is love and one of the most charming little dogs I've ever seen. I'd kiss his precious little face.

Its branches look like my corkscrew willows. Sucks to lose something you've had for so long.

No smoking in my car. Nevah!
...and potential passengers better be in pristine condition or they aren't gettin' in either. I have creme colored interior. I'm much too prissy about my car, it mostly sits, it took me a year and a half to put like 1800 miles on it.

I would end up being too polite to help myself. You'd probably have to ask me several times "You sure you don't want something to eat/drink?" before I spoke up. I only mentioned bringing my brother because he seemes to think its my responsibility to feed him and I'm too nice a guy/doormat to refuse. Wish he'd make more of an effort to help me de-junk the house and do the chores. Especially since he just got fired/laid off from his Wendy's job.
