Peace
#1
The question that got asked this week is:
"What does peace mean to me?"

It has been so long since I thought about peace. Hardened hearts. Bitter world. Negative thinking. The word peace was once overused and has become cliche.

As the week wore on I finally came up with some answers. My answers were something like, "Peace is found inside ourselves, not outside. Peace for me is going to sleep at night and not being afraid, peace is doing things that are challenging."

I know we like to bitch a lot about world happenings and maybe do not spend too much time thinking about hippy peace love and whatever, but if you had to answer.....What does peace mean to you?

Is it possible in today's world?

If you're talking about personal peace, sure, I think that's possible.

Peace (to me) is serenity, it's quiet and copasetic. I'm a creature of habit so when I have those things it means all is right in my world. I'll forgo extreme highs and excitement in order for my life to be smooth sailing.

I guess I'll know peace when I see it. Smiley_emoticons_slash

I do believe you can have peace in the midst of a chaotic, stressful world (that ultimately, it comes from within and it's partly attitudinal--not necessarily situational) but I sure as heck haven't mastered that.

Peace...I think I'll have it when my nosy family is dead or I get my own place. Peace...when I don't have to feel guilty for having fun outside of work. It's laughable that my brother thinks I'm lazy because I don't do much housework on my days off and he works hard because he does very little housework on his every day off. I told him I'll do housework on my days off when you do housework five days a week.
