I have a notebook with all my passwords to maybe 30 different places and every one is different. So in a notebook I have all the info anyone needs to know if a piano falls on my head as I'm slipping on a banana peel into a custard pie that I was carrying.

Anyone else keep in writing stuff. If you keep everything in a computer I might just laugh or you may laugh at me but I bet only 25% actually do, keep stuff in writing that is.

And yes I am channeling Dr. Seuss I am.

I have a small notebook where I have all my passwords coded, its obscure so if by chance someone came across it they wouldn't know what it was.
Also paper files with the most important stuff that may be needed, its labeled clearly so anyone need it it will be easy to locate.
Fingerprint cards, DD214, Birth Cert, HS and College papers etc...

Nope, its all in my head. Only bad thing about that is when I die it would be kinda nice if my OL could make a post at all the forums saying , hey the fat fucker is dead, but without a notebook that will be impossible. Maybe I should rethink this.

It was reported that FB was asking it's member's to consider making all accounts and PW's known to a trusted person. Who could/would close out the member's account(s) after their demise. Seems reasonable.
Would seem to be good for forums also, IMO.

Once I'm dead I probably won't give a shit if my internet accounts are closed out or not.

This is the only forum I'm on anymore so I think I can manage to remember my username and PW without writing that down. And if I disappear I'll be ok with Maggot just making up a poll about what happened to me.

I do wish I would have written down my Geico Ins. password though. Now I have to talk to the fuckers on the phone to take care of something that could have easily been done on my internet account.

I do that often. However I do something that is REALLY stupid...I use the same password (sometimes with a minor adjustment like a capital letter when required) for almost all my online activities. If someone ever got ahold of that one p/w, they could access most everything I do online. Smiley_emoticons_slash

I wouldn't worry so much about some stuff, but medical records is where the criminals are looking now. A good identity thief could sell that info for 200.00 a pop. Banks and credit cards are pretty good with security today. But hospitals, clinics hell they throw that stuff out with the trash sometimes.

Our home network got hacked a couple of weeks ago. Comcast showed me a place where I could see fucking foreign I.P. addresses logged on to my network.

Our bank had some hacking done to it and they offered us a free year or two of one of the identity guard services. I probably ought to take them up on it but...I already run in to situations every couple of weeks where they freeze our credit cards for potential fraud activity. One time it was fraud (some ADCash charge for $500) but 99% of the time, it's nothing (I tried to buy something at Radio Shack for $49 that they found suspicious for some reason so they locked our cards. So I have to call and get the cards unfrozen. It's a PITA. I should look in to it but I'm afraid an identity guard service might end up being trouble too. Hmmmm....

I liked Playboy when Hunter Thompson wrote for them. Playboy had quite the stable of writers also. Roald Dahl wrote Charlie and the Chocolate factory. Ian Fleming who wrote the James Bond series. Ray Bradbury also. That's why I bought them. hah

I cleaned out my old desk and found all kinds of literature from the 50-60's some old playboys, WWII binoculars and patches, hunting licenses from the 40's (one had a wifes bikini picture in it) and a couple of unused Monkees tickets......I can't even remember why I never went. Davy Jones was still alive then. In the back of my mind I think the concert was cancelled.

I do that too. Most of my passwords are variations of or related to my favorite superhero. I know its bad but it makes it so easy to remember.
