TERRORIST ATTACKS: PARIS, MALI, AND MORE
Cancer was here long before all those things you listed. Ebola too.

Really?
I haven't read that.

I missed the picture of Jesus wearing his pink ribbon because Mary had breast cancer.
To be a feminist is simply to believe that everybody should be treated equally, regardless of sex. It means you think that there should be equality of the sexes economically, socially, politically and personally. When you put it like that, it’s surely difficult for anybody to deny being a feminist. But for such a simple concept, it is often dramatically misunderstood.

That's because Jesus is a fictional character in the worlds first tragedy novel.

Either way he got a bum deal.

Yeah... I really don't care too much what other people believe in. This was fun. Sorry about shitting in your thread, Cars, back to Paris.

Thanks for the banter Crash.

The only one that has made the most sense to me right now out of all the posts on my FB feed tonight are the words from the Dali Lama:

Quote:People want to lead a peaceful lives. The terrorists are short-sighted, and this is one of the causes of rampant suicide bombings. We cannot solve this problem only through prayers. I am a Buddhist and I believe in praying. But humans have created this problem, and now we are asking God to solve it. It is illogical. God would say, solve it yourself because you created it in the first place.

We need a systematic approach to foster humanistic values, of oneness and harmony. If we start doing it now, there is hope that this century will be different from the previous one. It is in everybody's interest. So let us work for peace within our families and society, and not expect help from God, Buddha or the governments.

How come the President doesn't want an enhanced screening process before refugees come here?

That's their prerogative, but what a way to live.

What does that have to do with the way someone lives? I can't force myself to believe in an omnipotent God that gave men free will to torture and rape children because Eve fucked up and ate the apple. To force myself to have faith in that would be fooling myself and God if there is one. Just because you believe it and I don't doesn't mean you live your life anymore morally or peaceful than me.

Paris Terrorist Raid, Wednesday -- 2 Dead, 8 Arrested

^ 27-year-old Abdelhamid Abaaoud, the alleged orchestrator of the Paris attacks last week, was identified based on skin samples, but authorities did not know how he died, Paris Prosecutor Francois Molins' office said.

The Belgian terrorist's body was found in the apartment building targeted in the chaotic and bloody raid in the Paris suburb of Saint-Denis.

^ Hasna Aitboulahcen, 26, is the woman who died in the raid. She was Abaaoud's cousin.

She is believed to have lured anti-terror police to the apartment by screaming "help me, help me!" from the apartment window.

Police dog Diesel was first into the apartment. That's when the bitch detonated a suicide vest and blew herself up, also blowing part of the floor out.

Aitboulahcen's spine was recovered on a police vehicle parked in the street below. Fortunately, no human officers were killed in the blast. Unfortunately, Diesel was killed -- RIP.

I'm glad she's dead. She and the others don't deserve the air they breathe.

It's not so much morality or peacefulness, to me it's more the idea that we human beings are no different than some bug that ends up smashed against a windshield.

We have souls and the greatest intelligence on the planet.

To me, the idea that our death ends with nothingness is very hard for me to believe.

I'd have a difficult time living my life with that thought.

Doesn't make me more moral or peaceful.

I dunno. If you think of nothing after life, that's about as peaceful as it gets (not so much for those you leave behind).

Who knows what kind of rules, hierarchy and passive aggressive bickering might occur in heaven? And if you believe in heaven then do you also believe in hell? I'd say I've got a 5050 chance of ending up in either (assuming either exist). I might rather just go all to dust and not take my chances, thanks anyway.

From what I understand about the suicide vests more often than not, it is true.

It might be an uncomfortable thought MS but why would death be any different for a human than any other animal or insect? Sounds a bit egotistical to me.

Seems Daesh may in fact be working on developing chemical weapons.

'We know today ... that the mastermind of the attacks - or one of them, let's remain cautious - was among those dead,' French MP Valls told reporters outside Parliament yesterday.

Mr Valls' warning of the risk of bioweapons being used against France came as U.S. and Iraqi intelligence officials confirmed that ISIS is aggressively pursuing development of chemical weapons.

The militant terrorist organisation is setting up a branch dedicated to research and experiments with the help of scientists from Iraq, Syria and elsewhere in the region, according to reports.

U.S. intelligence officials do not believe IS has the capability to develop sophisticated weapons like nerve gas that are most suited for a terrorist attack on a civilian target. So far the group has used mustard gas on the battlefield in Iraq and Syria.

I saw a panelist on CNN last night talking about the various recruiting techniques used by Daesh. At first, they targeted criminals. Then, they developed a campaign to attract scientists and engineers. They've also got campaigns directed at disgruntled Westerners. Daesh appears to be pretty diverse at this point; the terrorist leaders sure have made the most of prisoner networks and the long reach of the internet and social media.

I imagine it would be tough for anti-ISIL coalition soldiers to shoot and kill armed little kids, Gunnar.

But, it's probably gonna be a reality. I've seen the photos of the ISIL kids participating in the mass beheading.

Hopefully, some of those kids can be saved and shown another way. But, it won't be surprising to me if we're reading about how one or more of them is the head of a terrorist organization 10+ years from now.
