My friends in Turkey have always hated on Erdogan........he was going to tear down their beautiful park in Istanbul and build more condos, etc... he is a wanna be dictator who is trying to encourage Islamic religion as he is Muslim....wants to take country backwards like some of our Politicians....this is per my friends from Ankara and now living in Istanbul.... They are now holed up safe and sound with friends as this is going on around them....

We are the Harley Davidson of industrialized nations, coasting along on our name and some unexplainable myth of coolness that really hasn't had any basis in reality in many years. The only areas we still lead? Number of guns and number of incarcerated prisoners. Whoops.

We also have more school shootings than any other country. We lead the world in credit card and school loan debt, porn production, soda consumption, etc... I love the U.S. though. We are great at diversity and change, we used to be anyway. Hopefully, we can start making some some serious overdue changes in our criminal justice and economic systems soon.
