Grandma Sally!!! I can’t even get my mind around that, FFS! I was just looking when I joined here (2009?!?!) and I online knew u even before that. Fuckin fuckity…that’s very cool. I’m with u on the “gender reveal” parties. 

Yayyy! IDK, my two are 26 now and on the one hand I’m not in a hurry for either of them to get into LTRs much less have kids but on the other hand, by the time I think they’re ready I’m definitely going to be an old cow I’m afraid; not able to do much with grand children. Boo-hoo.

My son turned 27 yesterday and my daughter's are 31 and 13. I really can't picture any of them being parents, they were in my living room fighting over a bag of chips the other day. At least the 13 year old has somewhat of an excuse.

Thank you. I'm exited about it, but I don't think I'll be watching the baby much. They think were unfit drunks, but it's okay that we put a down payment on their new car lol. I don't want to babysit anyway, bring that little sucker over for an hour or so and then get out of here.

I’m already at an age/place in my life where IDK if I’d want to babysit grandchildren for any length of time (even if my kids trusted me/us to do it which is questionable). 10 years ago I remember thinking if my daughter accidentally got pregnant as a teen and decided to keep the baby I’d totally help her.

That ship has left port I think.

J is 13 and acting like a real dick lately. Now she's on this stupid low carb diet even though she's borderline too thin as it is. She's starting to drive me nuts, but I remember those days thinking I was fat too even though I was far from it. She's very concerned about her looks lately.

Awww fuck. I remember those days painfully (as you probably know both my kids ended up with anorexia for a while). Thankfully while it was really awful for a time, they both got over it pretty quickly (compared to some who struggle with it their whole lives). My daughter still gets way too skinny periodically/gets hyper focused on her weight, but she usually snaps back around now pretty quickly (within a month or two).

I doubt what J is doing is anything more than normal but I’m a little triggered, lol.

Separate note, my son has never drank much (doesn’t like alcohol) although he likes his weed. My daughter partied and got hella drunk periodically (every couple weeks) and no…she was never an alcoholic but she’s decided alcohol doesn’t serve her at all so she hasn’t drank for almost 3 months (she went 2 months w/out last year). She’s what they call “sober curious” these days.

Yeah, definitely better not to overreact IMO. Teens (including me way back) are just suckers for trends. My daughter went vegetarian for a while; completely separate from her anorexia later. It was just a “thing” for her for a time. 

My son’s anorexia kinda surprised me because it was seemingly gradual and he was wearing such baggy clothes at the time that, in hindsight, I was like how the fuck did I not see it? But it all worked out (after months of brutal pain). 

U won’t have that.

When my son was 15 he got really thin and was acting weird. Turns out he was smoking K2 with his friend that they stole from the friend's father. WTF, my husband actually has real pot they could have stole instead. It fucked his thyroid up and everything. He finally had to admit to us what the fuck he was doing because he just wasn't acting normal. That shit is poison, he would have been better off smoking crack, the fucking idiot.
