THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY

It's taken me a very long time to understand that when trump speaks, he isn't speaking to me, he's speaking only to those who support him so I've had a great idea, a way to save $25 billion dollars. He should just tweet that the wall has been built, it's all done and it stretches for miles and miles and miles. Then he can post a picture of the great wall of China as proof. Those who support him will believe him, they'll give him back pats, high fives and all the applause he can stand. Ta Da! 33

Is there a law against it? Seriously, is there?

Not that I'm aware of.

You're okay with this?

It is the same unwritten law that says Gov't will not be influenced by religion, you know, separation of Church and State...that is why there can be no nativity scenes around or in public buildings, Christmas trees, etc. or suffer wrath and lawsuits of the ACLU......
That this happens in 2017 is a travesty and should be nipped in the bud. The conflicts should be apparent to you FQ2.......
If I choose to live my live according to teachings of the Bible, I will go to Church, not my Gov't for guidance.....

Is it really a religious thing or a morality thing? Is abortion OK after 4 months, 6 months, 8 months? Saying you are pro abortion means you are, right? Abortion has many categories and there are no true sides to the issue.

A few days ago, I dropped by beautiful purple Dell laptop and it died as a result of fatal injuries. I replaced it with a cheap $389 laptop and I am struggling with this right now, but will try to explain again....

We are not discussing pros and cons of abortion....I think that is another thread...we were discussing the fact that our Gov't is sticking it's nose into morality, abortion, whatever you want to call it....
This is not appropriate for the Gov't of the United States to do that. They have not been designated the Morality Police quite yet, but that is direction this country is going with in this current administration.

Thus, IMO, it matters not whether this is religious and/or morality issue.....we have laws which control these issues but we would have to discuss the morality of all crimes, etc...and I am not into having an in depth discussion about this to respond to comment above....

Yep, just keep our country on the track of moving away from God.

In the 1940's (when the USA saved the world) this country went to church, kids said the Pledge of Allegiance, nativity scenes at govt buildings were commonplace.

People didn't bitch and moan about it either.

BBH you are an ardent anti-God/religion person. I've taken note. There are others here as well.

It's no coincidence to me (and many million others I would assume) that the Godless folks are the ones who are very butt hurt about Republicans being back in the White House.

Upset over every little thing.

Just so you know, for every one of you, there's one of us: people who have a moral compass that is directed by God/Higher Power.

We've been silenced for the last 8 years in saying what we think/feel because of the PC crowd.

I'm not condoning inflammatory/demeaning speech, I'm saying, if someone wants to say I'm anti-abortion or I'm tired of how many Muslim immigrants we take in, we can say it.

Hopefully, President Trump will not flip-flop on these two changes of course he professed today:

1. Theresa May, UK PM, confirmed in their joint conference that Trump is now 100% behind NATO and that the UK and the US will work with other NATO countries towards strengthening NATOs abilities in fighting terrorism and cyber warfare. Trump confirmed.

2. Trump committed to stop promoting illegal torture and to defer such matters to his Defense Secretary, Mattis (who has previously been clear in his belief that torture doesn't work).

I guess I would fall into the "godless people" category and I'm not butthurt about Republicans (though, I see Trump more as an independent and wild card) being in the White House.

And, some of the ultra PC bullshit at college campuses and among extreme liberals over every little thing annoys me as much as it does some of you God-directed people.

But, if you felt silenced, that's because you chose to be silent, MS.

I disagree with many positions coming out of our current administration, even though some people around me and here at Mock support those same positions. If I chose silence over debate and disagreement, that wouldn't be the fault of Trump supporters and those of you who need religion/God to calibrate your moral compasses. It would simply be a reflection of my priorities, choices, and fortitude.

Okay, I'm done laughing.

I don't want people in positions of power making decisions based on their religious beliefs. No way, no how. I don't want teachers teaching based on their religious beliefs unless one specifically sends their children to a school where it's part of the curriculum.

This started with Duchess incredulous that VP Pence would be at an anti-abortion get together.

He was elected I'm sure in part because of that stance.

Just as a Senator or Representative that campaigned on pro-abortion or pro LGBT&Q issues would attend one of those rally's.

Doesn't shock or offend me.

I could hardly believe my eyes. I had heard about it but I didn't believe he would actually do it!

I just heard the Pro-Life movement (holding today's rally) was told to stay away from all the women's marches last week.

Edit: March For Life (official title).

I briefly attended the march at the Civic Center here last Saturday with my niece. We got there early in the afternoon and it was very interesting. The center had been reserved for months in advance by anti-abortion groups. When the Women's March sprung to life, one of the natural gathering areas was the Civic Center. After learning of the previous reservation, the Women's March was pushed back in the day (I didn't get the message).

Anyway........one group had their gathering in the morning to early afternoon and the counter group gathered afterwards. We got their during the transition; no issues whatsoever. That was cool to witness.
