The President of the United States of America.
THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY

All Trump would need to do is say something to the effect of, "Russia, if you're listening, I don't want your help and you best stay out of U.S. elections - the full weight of the U.S. government and private/government security will be watching closely and will prosecute/sanction any Russians involved in violation of U.S. and international election laws".
Trump doesn't denounce Russian election interference, however. He instead denies it even exists and lashes out when the very real threat is spoken about honestly. Last election cycle, Trump himself stood on a public platform and said to the world, "Russia, if you’re listening, I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing” in reference to Hillary Clinton's emails -- thereby encouraging election interference and illegal distribution of stolen property. I'm not among those who claims that Russian interference is what got Trump elected in 2016. However, I do believe Trump's own behavior and attitude towards it is a main reason Russia felt so emboldened, and why some in Trump's camp got themselves in such hot water working covertly with Russia on behalf of Trump and lying about it (as evidenced via investigations, witness testimony, and convictions).

In answer to your question, "what is Russia doing anyway?" Mags.............it's a long-established fact that Putin actively seeks to sow discord among citizens and governments in the U.S. and other democratic societies.
There's been plenty of hard evidence put forth over the last several years as to what Russia did in the U.S. during the 2016 election.....which has been covered in court cases, in the news, and here at Mock. As a reminder: Russian government-sponsored troll farms working non-stop to spread misinformation via very targeted marketing gained from users' electronic profiles, misinformation campaigns spread via social media, attempts to hack electronic voting machines, operatives infiltrating political organizations under false pretenses, etc........... Anyway, President Trump has the power to control/change the wide-spread perception that he's in Putin's pocket by acknowledging, denouncing, and actively combating Russian interference, rather than denying it. Unless/until he does so (which Bernie had zero problem doing), his attempts to blame others just sound like more shady projectionist bullshit.

Just tossing out the fact that they are trying to affect the election is causing trouble even if they do nothing. I'm more concerned with Iran, N.Korea or any of the other players jumping in. They cannot mess with the votes and can only mess with peoples minds and the Russians are great at that. Coming to America and kicking the beehive of political discord is really easy to do and we only have ourselves to blame.
We really are our own worst enemy.

The way the candidates are tearing each other down is bad.

During a news conference in India trump said RBG should recuse herself from all things trump related as she didn't support him in 2016. He then went on to say that Justice Sotomayer should do the same for some unspecified inappropriate statement. I look forward to the day his brain finally explodes.

I really wish President Trump would refrain from publicly launching partisan bitches about domestic issues whenever he visits another country.
He seemed to be representing the U.S. well in India.............and then he just couldn't resist that kind of thin-skinned public pettiness. He knows neither Ginsburg or Sotomayer are gonna recuse or resign from the Supreme Court; there's no cause for either of them to do so. He's just tossing red meat out to his most fervent followers, knowing his out-of-place remarks will hit the headlines and rile them up, in my opinion. Anyway, I think his issue with Sotomayer is that she offered a dissenting opinion recently expressing her view that the Trump Administration is too quick to bypass the lower courts. Sick burn alright. ')

She accused the conservative justices of being biased in Trump's favor.
The truth hurts.

I'd be glad if he refrained from talking about all things he knows nothing about. We'd never have to hear from him again.
He's talking shit about the Coronavirus too. He hasn't a clue and he's eliminated the National Safety Council & DHS epidemic teams and the global health section is bare bones. He's talking about vaccines and shit that doesn't even apply to this set of circumstances. He's completely fuckin' ignorant about all of this.

Thank you for the clarification Rootilda.
Here are the comments by Sotomayor which reportedly set off the President. “Today’s decision follows a now-familiar pattern,” Sotomayor began. “The Government seeks emergency relief from this Court, asking it to grant a stay where two lower courts have not. The Government insists—even though review in a court of appeals is imminent—that it will suffer irreparable harm if this Court does not grant a stay. And the Court yields.” “This Court is partly to blame for the breakdown in the appellate process. That is because the Court—in this case, the New York cases, and many others—has been all too quick to grant the Government’s 'reflexiv[e]' requests. But make no mistake: Such a shift in the Court’s own behavior comes at a cost.” “I fear that this disparity in treatment erodes the fair and balanced decision making process that this Court must strive to protect,” Sotomayor concluded. https://thehill.com/legal/484195-sotomay...nistration

The Supreme Court will soon be ruling on things that touch trump, like his taxes, and president nitwit will whine he's being treated unfairly because of those two Justices. He will present himself (again!) as a victim.

I didn't know Modi had been denied a Visa to the United States for years. Did you? WTF is the president doing with him. Why isn't this news?
02-25-2020, 03:16 PM
Modi and his regime have a deep hatred for Muslims and have a lot of policies to eradicate them from the country. I mean, they're right out in the open about it. So... I don't know for sure because I'm too lazy to look it up but I'm gonna guess Modi wasn't allowed into the US because of this.

I never knew anything about him other than him being India's Prime Minister until today. He sanctions murder. I saw it called a "pogrom", an organized massacre. So of course trump invites him into the White House. |
