hell no, listen screw the bong the hash pipe, go for broke and spin one, how long has it been. My taxes are done and they're in the hands of the wizard now. The 15th snuck up on me this year and I just bet I will be getting a few phone calls before then.

Do you have any soda/juice cans? You can easily make a bong out of a soda/juice can. I smoke out of a can bong all the time.

I'll counter with some extreme defeatism. Ugh. Four more days. I'm extremely worried that I'm going to lose my job some day despite passing probation and despite my office manager telling me the Governor reviewed one of my emails that I answered right. Why the fuck am I so afraid of asking questions? of making mistakes? Confidence going down on the Clangcoaster.

You're doing fine Clang! Besides you work for the state. It will take an act of congress to fire you.

Do you take notes and review them at night? Are there any manuals you can take home and read?
SRSLY CLANG
This week I am trying to cram 5 days into 2 so I can go home for a few days and celebrate my moms birthday.

Manuals to take home and read? You sound like my Mom when she was trying to help me save my Tax and Finance state job. SRSLY LOVE CHILD.
No, they don't let us take home the manuals and our notes at night. I just got to stop feeling stupid for making mistakes, asking questions, and not knowing stuff. In short I got to learn to stop being such a moody bastard.
I'm feeling much better today. My stupid demon didn't win and I asked questions! YAY!

I know. But then my low self esteem and stupidity demons tag team me and I feel like even though I passed probation, if I make too many mistakes they'll find a way to fire me. I got even more stressed on Monday when I learned the Governor had reviewed one of my email answers to a customer. I feel lucky it was one I had answered right.

If you can answer questions on a forum, you can answer questions at the DMV.

Clang would make a great meter maid. They would call him Rita because there was no one sweeter and they would all come to meet her and he could show them his peter much better than a Wal-Mart greeter but with anchovies.

Yeah, I don't think so. When I answer questions at forums I'm mostly trying to give funny and/or smartass answers. That isn't allowed at the DMV. No offense intended, but the questions at the DMV actually require thought, focus, knowledge, etc.
By your logic, I watch a lot of science fiction TV shows and movies so I should be able to fly, fix, command my own starship/spaceship and perform future space surgery.

And its already off to a bad start. I took some personal time off to do laundry, get some extra sleep, and decide what I want to do about this canvass letter I got for a Supervisor's job. Should I tell them I'm interested in a supervisor's position or not? I'd most likely have to ask my bosses about getting retrained on the phones. Its due Friday. It would mean more stress and I'd have to move since its not in the same location I'm currently working.

Do not take anything that adds more stress to your life unless you think you can overcome it in a timely fashion. You will be miserable and being miserable at your job sucks in a major way given it's something you have to do day after day.

Higher pay? Do you want to move? Would this mean having your own place?
You've been wanting to take time off since last week! What did you do this weekend?
Also, what is a canvas letter? They sent one out to everyone to see who is interested in supervising?
Do you want to stay in the position you are in forever? Or would you like more responsibilities?

Well, if the new job is not for a shitload life changing more money, then it is not worth all the new higher stress that goes with a stressful Supervisor's position.
Moving is another thing that you can't easily do, since your dad & bro depend on you for support & "housing". Would they move with you?
Since it's a canvas letter, means there likely will be many applicants, thus, causing competition, and the salary bump will not be as large as if you were the only applicant.
Seems in your current situation, the timing is not in your favor at this moment.
What ever you decide, Good Luck!

Yes there would be higher pay. I'm a G-9. The supervisor job is a G-14.
Yes, I want to move. And yes this would mean having my own place. It would hopefully force my brother to get a job to help support Dad. It would also give me more privacy to explore Miss Clang.
canvass letter: A letter to see if the people who took the supervisor test last year and passed are still interested in a supervisor position.
No, I do not want to stay in the same position forever, but unless I overcome my phone confidence/fear issues and be given the chance to do so I will be stuck in the same position until I retire in the next 27 years or so. Any higher position/paying job most likely will require good phone skills. No one likes more responsibility, but no one (except the very rich) like a boring, unchallenging, unchanging, non-confrontational job. I'm tired of taking the easy way out in life. Its a new year, its time for a new more confident Clang!
