I'm not a sci-fiction fan, but the premise of that book looks promising.

Have you read any of this series? It's awsome. At first I didn't think I would like it since it's set in the future. But I love it.

I have not. You're the second person this week that has recommended that author to me.

Yanno that is Nora Roberts writing under a pseudonym, right?

What I like about the series is that it isn't so far in the future to make it unrealistic. It's what.....about 50 years into the future?

The author normally writes romance novels and I was sort of hesitant about reading her, even with a pseudonym and different genre, but these are really entertaining. The soft porn is pretty good too.

I'm not sure if I've read this one or not, the titles all sound the same.

JD Robb is really Nora Roberts. But don't let that scare you. LOL The series is great. And in each book, the characters develop more and more and you really see what makes the lead character Dallas tick. There are all sorts of cool technical things and forensic things from the future too. I highly recommend reading the series. I usually finish a book in a day. Two at most if I have other shit going on.

You HAVE to start at the beginning of the series, though.

Yes, you have to start with Naked in Death. The characters and their relationships develop with each book so you have to read them in order. You won't be sorry if you read these. Even though Nora Roberts is typically a women's author, this series appeals to men as well.

It is a series, but each book stands on its own. You don't have to start with the first one and read in order. Regardless of what the others say; each book stands on its own.

Exactly right. Her relationship with Rourke is integral to the plot as are her other relationships.

Seriously, you should read them in order.

A book titled with the word, Naked in it?

Yeah, I'm in.

Again; read them in whatever order you like. Good series, just as most of Nora Robert's are damn good. Not mushy, gooey, "damsel in distress who is rescued by the valiant knight in shining armor" shit.

Well, up to now Beverly Cleary has been my favorite author, so I am ripe for a change of pace.

True. Each story does stand on it's own. But with each book, the characters and their relationships with each other develop. There are references to events from past books too. But if you were to just grab one from the middle, you would still get the story.
