For 2000 years people have taken the messages and teachings of Jesus and perverted them to fit their own agenda, but his message in its original form is very good.
He ain't heavy, he's my brother.

I’ll count on Jesus for many things, but haven’t had to worry about plumbing issues to this point.
Sounds like he helped you, and I’m happy for you.

Zero, I’ve never been a big fan of yours, so having a one on one dialogue with you is something I’m not going to do. So this will be my last post to you. I’m happy for you now that you’re able to be who you want to be. As for me, I’m very content. I hope you hear the Christian message and embrace it!

The God that I know isn't the fire & brimstone one I sometimes see described online. God isn't a scary dude to me. The one I know is all about love & acceptance, kindness to others, he's not judgmental nor does he play favorites and he's understanding. He "gets" me. I don't like that he is sometimes used to beat people down or to punish them. That's not godly, not by any stretch, that's just some kinda fucked excuse that a person came up with. I've never cared if people believe or don't believe and I think it's horribly presumptuous of anyone to tell another how they should be worshiping or if they should be worshiping at all.

This year is the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation.
When Martin Luther introduced to the world that gaining Heaven was not done through works, but through Grace. He also had the Bible translated into languages other than just Latin, so that everyday people could read. He also said that anybody could pray to God, not just Priests. The 1500’s became a clash between Catholicism and Protestantism. The fire and brimstone message has been eroded much since that time and God is indeed loving and merciful.

CONVERT TO CHRISTIANITY OR DIE Millions of African−Americans are Christians today because their ancestors were converted against their will to the religion of the slave-master. Hundreds of thousands of American−Indians are Christians today because the Christian missionaries converted their ancestors against their will. In Europe, it was the same thing. When Rome controlled most of the world, the Roman Emperor, Constantine, in 325 CE forced Christianity onto his subjects. The people of Lithuania did not become Christians because they read the gospels and decided to accept their teachings. On the contrary, the people of Lithuania were forced into Christianity against their will, as a result of relentless military force. http://jdstone.org/cr/files/converttochr...ordie.html I count my blessings that the writers of our Constitution saw how important it is separate The Church from The State.

Millions of Jews from the fourth century CE until the 20th Century were forced to “kiss the sword” of Christ, or be put to death by that sword. Therefore, many, many Jews died at the hands of Christians in the name of Jesus. Fortunately, many Jews managed to survive. They survived by lying―they converted, but secretly remained Jews. The Christian Church finally realized what was happening and in 1492, the Spanish Inquisition tried to purge the country of these “Secret” Jews, called Marranos. http://jdstone.org/cr/files/converttochr...ordie.html |
