RUSSIAN INTERFERENCE IN 2016 US ELECTION & SPIN-OFF INVESTIGATIONS

The thing with the texts is that trump wasn't the only one they called a moron. They made unflattering comments about a few high profile people and per usual trump is trying to make it be all about himself.

I kinda get that, actually.

It's like when you're in a group photo, you look like crap, and somebody posts it publicly. You probably wouldn't even notice or care if other people in the photo look like crap too.

But.........it obviously doesn't make the photographer out to make you look bad, even if you know that he/she isn't always your biggest fan.

Comey was a lifelong Republican. Mueller is a lifelong Republican. Rosenstein is a lifelong Republican. Sessions is a lifelong Republican. I haven't heard people claiming that they can't/couldn't do their jobs objectively because of party-affiliation or their private political views (well, except for Sessions).

I just want to see where the evidence leads. If no one broke any laws during the campaign or lied under oath in an attempt to cover up shady foreign collusion for personal gain........great.

If, on the other hand, either of those things did happen and there's evidence to prove it (which won't have anything to do with private agent texts), it needs to be seriously addressed and made very clear to the world that American democracy is not for sale.

I'm curious about the lying. Every single person who had contact with the Russians lied about it, and not just once.

Sometimes I think I'd like to go back to a time when I didn't give a rip about politics and other times I think this is so much fun! Ahahahaha. trump has got to be the dumbest person ever elected to the presidency, more people think he can't do the job than do and the lying is insane. When he speaks, he's speaking to his base so I know he realizes that I won't believe his lies but his base will and that never fails to make me laugh.

I think getting to the motivation behind the lies is one of the reasons Mueller is looking at Kushner's transition emails.

It's possible that Manafort and Gates could go down for international financial crimes and Flynn could go down for lying about being a paid operative for a foreign government, without there being evidence that Trump and other members of his campaign/transition teams were involved.

It sure seems that Kushner forgot and/or lied a lot when speaking with investigators though. He's reportedly screening crisis management firms to do PR for him (his attorney has since confirmed that report).

And, most of the FOX anchors have become increasingly off the hook in trying to delegitimize the Russian Interference investigation and the FBI since the Flynn plea deal was announced.

Jeanine Pirro particularly is really out there these days, drawing all kinds of conspiracy conclusions and calling for specific members of the FBI to be fired and jailed.

The constant attacks on various aspects of the justice system, along with the nomination of so many unqualified judges for permanent appointments, is disturbing.

Bernie and John know bullshit when they smell it. And, neither of them give a damn about being disparaged by dorky memes and right-wing extremists when they call it like they see it (they've both said as much many times).

I feel bad for John McCain and his family right now. Lots of times I don't agree with his his policy opinions, but I think he's done a lot for our country in the military and in Congress. He and Bernie have worked together for a long time on pro-veteran legislation. Good on them.

The type of brain cancer McCain's battling right now is the worst. Hopefully, he'll make it through the holidays and beyond.

I feel bad for them too and when I see John McCain I feel sad for him. I respect him. I heard some people talking about this moment so I went looking for it. It's very moving.

Joe Biden strikes me as a genuinely nice person. I don't think I've heard any politician from any party say bad things about his character or abilities. Even Mitch McConnell considers him a friend and the one Democrat he would/could negotiate with during the Obama administration.

He is a close-talker and a little touchy-feely sometimes, in my opinion, but apparently not in a sexual way.

Anyway, if he's still healthy, I really think he's eyeing to run for President in 2020. He's doing a lot of interviews and says he's not declaring that he'll run, but he's not closing that door.

So former campaign adviser and White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon has weighed-in about his thoughts on the Russia interference investigation.

Bannon ^ shared his disdain of other top campaign officials for going blind into the June 2016 meeting with a Russian lawyer instead of dispatching a legal team to vet information in a hand-off way and failing to alert authorities of a possible crime.

'The three senior guys in the campaign (Manafort, Kushner, Donald Jr) thought it was a good idea to meet with a foreign government inside Trump Tower in the conference room on the 25th floor – with no lawyers. They didn't have any lawyers,' Bannon vented in 'Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House' by Michael Wolff.

'Even if you thought that this was not treasonous, or unpatriotic, or bad shit – and I happen to think it's all of that – you should have called the FBI immediately,' Bannon stated.

He said that he believes money laundering is at the heart of the investigation and that investigators will crack Don Jr. like an egg on national television. He reportedly added that there's no way Donald Trump Sr. didn't know what was going on right under his nose in Trump Tower.

The book containing Bannon's interview is set to be released next week.

Yeah, unless this is some reality-show type scripted drama by Trump and Bannon again, this is a big problem for the President and he's not happy at all.

He just issued a statement in response to the news of Bannon's interview for the book.

President Trump's response: “Steve Bannon has nothing to do with me or my presidency. When he was fired, he not only lost his job, he lost his mind,” Trump said in a statement. “Steve doesn’t represent my base - he’s only in it for himself.”

Flynn and Bannon (and Kushner, in my opinion) were some of the worst hiring/appointment decisions I've ever witnessed. The writing was clearly on the wall for anyone who's not completely blind or otherwise compromised / misguided.

I just searched out that long excerpt. Fascinating read. http://nymag.com/daily/intelligencer/201...trump.html

None of it surprised me, as most of the documented behind-the-scenes goings-on and insider comments coincide and/or explain what we've seen play out on the public stage.

It sure is. I ordered Michael's book. I was just going to wait and get it from the library but I said screw it, I don't want to wait after reading someone say trump called Sally Yates a cunt. I'll read it and take it all with a grain of salt. I may not know if it all's true but you can bet your ass Special Counsel Mueller will be in the know.

This book is going to dominate for days!

Hows this thing going? Is it like 50,000 shades of collusion now or has the squirrel changed position, the squirrel being the latest greatest shiny object. Time will tell. Blowing-kisses
