We know from unanimous National Security and Intelligence agencies' findings that Russian operatives interfered in the 2016 U.S. elections (and recent European elections). The Russian government has so far suffered very minimal repercussions from our current President and congress.
On a separate but related note..........hats off to Theresa May, Prime Minister of the U.K. I don't always agree with May or U.S. UN Ambassador Nikki Hailey.
But, I'm grateful that both women ^ had the balls to drive action against the increasingly-emboldened Vladimir Putin and his (thus far successful) efforts to sow cultural discord through propaganda, cyber attacks and physical attacks within democratic societies.
Following the brazen chemical attack that attempted to kill two Russian ex-spies on British soil earlier this month, May has managed to lead the West in a way that the U.S. no longer does. And, as I see it, Hailey's strong denouncement of the Russian-driven attempted murders forced the U.S. to get its shit together and get on board, lest be viewed as pansy-ass enablers of Russian aggression (and a weak ally).
May has gotten 22 countries, including the U.S., to expel a collective 100 Russian diplomats and send a message to Putin that the West is not going to stand by and do nothing while he attempts to recreate and restore the old Soviet Union days and tactics.
It's pitiful to me how many U.S. citizens, mostly extremists on the right, seem to admire Putin, in part based on propaganda memes showing him with a gun and no shirt in the wilderness. 'He must be a man's man, unlike Barry Obummer!" Feckless fools. See how fast you'd lose your guns (and freedom of speech) if you were under the leadership of Putin.

Alex Jones with a law degree.
Respectable Ted Olson turned him down...twice. The second time publicly.
In a statement on Sunday, a spokesman for Trump’s legal team said both diGenova and his wife, Victoria Toensing, who is also a lawyer, would not be representing the President on the Russia probe after all.
The statement indicated that the change of plan is due to the fact that diGenova and Toensing's clients include people connected to the Russia investigation (conflicts of interest).
Another (unnamed source) claims that while Trump loved diGenova on FOX, he didn't gel with diGenova in-person and that also played a part in rescinding the offer.

On Sunday trump said, "Many lawyers and top law firms want to represent me in the Russia case...don’t believe the Fake News narrative that it is hard to find a lawyer who wants to take this on. Fame & fortune will NEVER be turned down by a lawyer"
That's ^^^^^^^ a lie and one of the reasons no one wants to work for him, he is a pathological liar and no one with any substance wants to be associated with that but that's only one reason, his reality is that there are a myriad of reasons that no respectable attorneys want to work with him and last night 2 more high powered attorneys turned him down. Dan Webb and Tom Buchanan both declined the offer to work for the President of the United States. HaHaFuckinHa.

Most lawyers are at least smart enough to see this ship is doomed. Nobody in their right mind wants their name attached to it. That's also why all the cabinet members with any semblance of credibility are fleeing.

I truly don't know what is sadder;, that you truly believe that crap, or you are gullible enough to swallow that shit sandwich whole.
I have known hundreds of attorneys over the past 40 years and not a single one cared one bit about their clients reputation. The only thing they cared about was when the check cleared.

I disagree. There are respectable attorneys out there who have spent their entire professional life building a good reputation and accept clients based on keeping it. Very good attorneys have the luxury of declining clients that don't suit their image and then there are attorneys from high profile firms that have shareholders who need to be taken into consideration as well.

I see I have made an error; all these years I thought you lived in Delaware. Now I see you live in Tír Na Nóg. I guess you are referring to the pillars of the community like Johnny Cochran and Gloria Allred. Let alone the four most famous Democrat lawyers of all time: Hillary nd Bill Clinton and Michelle and Barak Obama. What do they all have in common? That's right they all were eitther disbarred or had their licenses suspended.

What are you so pissed off about all the goddamn time? Serious question. I don't think I've ever had a conversation with you that was relaxed & fun. Every time I see you, you are in a pissy mood. Every. Time. Lighten up, Pappy, relax. Wanna smoke some weed?

I agree that may be at least part of Trump's problem attracting and retaining high quality attorneys.
He doesn't always follow their advice and requires a lot of time, money, and loyalty investment.
Yet, at the end of service.......he's notorious for not paying people for their services at the contracted price, trying to negotiate down from the terms he signed-off on, and sometimes suing providers claiming 'performance issues' when they demand to be paid what they've earned. Trump openly brags about those tactics.
I could not stay in business if my biggest clients pulled that shit. I turn down clients who have a proven track record of stiffing service providers, no matter how much they offer to pay and how many referrals they promise.

Sounds just like Wal-mart. But as in any negotiating process you start high and go down from there. If you sell a car and say 7000.00 you usually end up knocking off something to be able to sell it and get it over with. Wal mart says you will sell your product to us for x amount if you don't they go someplace else. Then they want 1000 in a week or else the deal is off. They suck.

It doesn't sound like that all to me, Mags.
When you have ALREADY signed a contract and agreed to a price, that's the price you should pay -- no welching, filing baseless lawsuits, and other bullshit to try to stiff providers once the job is done is justified.
Providers have to pay their employees, contractors, and overhead - we often times incur a lot of costs before payment is made.
People who sign contracts with no intention of paying the agreed-to price and abiding by the agreed-to terms have no integrity and put people out of business. Once word gets around the industry about such welchers, they have a hard time attracting and retaining providers, for very good business reasons.

I certainly don't believe you have known hundreds of lawyers, let alone well enough for you to judge the content of their character or have access to their caseloads. I'm calling bullshit.
Besides, even if what you said was in any way true, lawyers STILL won't help Trump because he's legal poison. Doesn't like to pay his bills. Or his lawyers.Doesnt like to take legal advice or direction. Doesn't like to keep his big yap shut. Those kinds of things. There was a pretty interesting story today about a few depositions and lawsuits he had a couple decades ago where he did absolutely no preparation, undercut his own story and fucked his own case by running his mouth.
Just like he's doing now.

I'll tell you something else, something I've said elsewhere. I haven't known a shitload of lawyers, good or bad, certainly not by the hundreds. But for a time, based on the nature of my work and my location and once-removed status to certain key individuals, I did know some people in organized crime. Not hundreds. But in that circle were about a dozen guys representing different interests out west for the back east folks. It was during a time when Trump was fucking DESPERATE to get into Vegas and had approached several of the groups. And NOBODY, not one connected or organized family, wanted anything to do with Trump. Not even our immediate crew who were bottom feeders and wannabes at best.
Vegas was made for guys like Trump. But he never ever got a foothold, for one reason only. The mob wouldn't do business with him. They specifically worked to run him out and keep him out. Now what does THAT tell you?

It tells me that the shady movers and shakers in Las Vegas were more savvy and better at forecasting than were their counterparts in Atlantic City.

Have you ever gambled in Atlantic City, MS?
I've never been there; never been to New Jersey at all for that matter. I did make it through about two minutes of a 'Jersey Shore' episode with my niece several years ago though.
I'm kinda curious how Atlantic City compares to Las Vegas.

It's kind of like comparing San Francisco to Tijuana.
Atlantic City has fallen on hard times, and the city is pretty much a dump. Casinos opening in Pennsylvania and New York have dried up most of the bus trips and traffic that used to come from surrounding states. I think 4-5 of the casinos closed in the past few years, and the prospects there are pretty slim.

Interestingly enough, I was in Philly October of 2002.
It was when the sniper was gunning down people in the DC area and he was still loose.
One of the days we were there we took a limo to Atlantic City.
It was a much, much, much smaller version of Vegas.
I feel like we only went into one casino and it seemed like there were just a handful of them.
I also remember the town being a dump.

Some would say the entire state is a dump.
