I'm a stickler for realism, too. In all seriousness, I don't let many movies get away with "oh it's just a movie." They work to set up a certain kind of reality while some maintain the believability and don't shatter it, others do. I hate it when things happen that are "too unbelievable even for that kind of movie." I'm not sure the Navy thing qualifies though.

I'm with you.

I know there is plenty to "get away with" when it comes to the fantastic type movies but there should be some things that hold to a little bit of reality to blend in with the fantastic to make it a bit more plausable. (is that the word I want?)

Anyway, the Navy -sure. NO navy in the world will set up a formation like that at sea. It leaves them open for easy destruction.

The carrier is the center of the battle group and the other ships are there to protect the carrier. You wouldn't see the other ships at all if you're on the deck of the carrier.

Maybe in the story line of the movie it makes it make sense why. Won't know till it comes out!

Tis a flight of fantasy, 90 minutes of pure escapism, going to the cinema with you two sounds like a fucking nightmare.
