#FindSamSayers
#1
Sam Sayers went hiking on Vespers Peak August 1 and did not return. I have joined #FindSamSayers on FB, but I don't see any chatter about other possibilites of her disappearance. They are mobilizing hikers, drones, dogs SAR etc etc, but I haven't heard of any other avenues being researched.
For example-did she perhaps make it off the mountain and leave with someone else? Her car was left in the parking lot.
Is there anything funny with the fiance?

The most likely possibiilty is she lost her footing, or an avalanche happened, or rock slide and she got trapped underneath. Drones are being flown over the area and uploaded to youtube and people are searching remotely in that way-but really not alot can be seen.

Her birthday was on the 13th. She is 28, now 29.

Vespers Peak Trail Information from the WTA website:

I am also a part of a group on FB about Mollie Tibbets (sp?) and they are much more thourough about discussing the case than this #findSamSayers group.
I have been looking for:
1.Timeline of the day she went missing-including timeline of the search for the first few days
2. Info on if they checked out other leads such as the fiance or anyone else
3. Did she decide to just leave w/out her car either with someone else or alone? (It doesn't sound like it-but has it been considered?)

What else am I not thinking of?

I hope Sam is found safe, though the likelihood doesn't seem high, to me.  There's always hope.

Samantha Sayers, a Girard Native, has been missing since August 1st.  She went out for a hike on one of her favorite spots, Vesper Peak in Snohomish County, Washington.

Something, though, went wrong along the way and she has been missing ever since.

The energy to find Sam has amplified since August 23rd when the Sheriff's Office called off their search, adding fuel to the family's desire to find her and fast.

Here is a summary of useful info supplied by her mother Lisa and a local news outlet yesterday.

This is a map of the search area.

Sam's mom is asking for experienced hikers to volunteer and continue the search.

Some background information and details of the searches to date:

Snip
Samantha “Sam” Sayers, 28, described by family as an experienced day hiker, went missing on Aug. 1 after reportedly going on a solo hike on the Vesper Peak trail. She was expected to head home and check in with her boyfriend that night, but didn’t return. Her car was found parked at the trailhead, 27 miles south of Darrington on the Mountain Loop Highway in the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest.

The subsequent search involved infra-red viewing helicopters, K-9 search teams and hundreds of hours on the ground by the sheriff’s office search-and-rescue teams with help from other agencies, according to the sheriff’s office. At one point, drone operators and the sheriff’s Marine Unit were involved. Volunteer searchers from around the state donated thousands of hours of time, the sheriff’s office said.

“We have exhausted all leads and tips. We’ve interviewed all witnesses who have come forward. We have checked and double checked the possible routes we believe Sam could have taken,” Search and Rescue Sgt. John Adams wrote in the news release. “If there was a place we thought she could get to, we put people there to look for Sam, often putting our volunteers and personnel at great risk due to the rugged, remote, and dangerous terrain.”

Another hiker had her in his video when he was doing the same hike that day. And another one said they had lunch at the same time around 3 PM. There were other hikers on the mountain that day, even a scout troop but as far as I have read those have not come forward yet with any information from that day. They may not have any.

There have been rock slides and small avalanches, though I don't know the exact location of those in relation to the maps and drone footage.

I am going to invest in a garmin Satellite communicator before I go on my next solo trip. I don't want anyone to have to go through this to find me.

I worry because at a height of Vesper Peak-snow could begin falling as early as September and then if she is up there her body will be unable to be found or uncovered until next spring or summer.

That's a horrible, awful thought and I like it but I don't like it. I can't even articulate it. I like that you care enough to make sure you're found but JESUS CHRIST YOU'LL BE DEAD!

Agreed. It is. It's smart and it's responsible.

The search continues. Here is a video someone made for people to get a better idea of the terrain and the area. Some people from the east coast who are following the story kept going on about, "Maybe she fell into some rapids, it looks like there is a whole bunch of water up there" But they don't realize it is just creaks and streams and snow melt.
I do wonder if that lake has ever been searched.
The fb page is kind of off putting at times because anyone that has a different idea or question is immediately shut down, told to just watch the drone footage, and that authorities have already investigated and stop asking questions etc etc. I get it, but still-this can't be the only way.
People are using drones to scour the area, uploading videos and then people scour the footage trying to find Sam.
There are alot of people working on this.

This is what she gets for shaving her head, putting those dumb ass star tattoos on her head and going hiking alone. You want to be all cool, there ya go, a big cat is probably shitting out her remains now.

Sam Sayers was an experienced hiker who'd navigated that area in the past. If you feel it's unwise for anyone to hike alone, that's fair enough and relevant to the case.

However, her style choices obviously have nothing to do what with the unfortunate disappearance of a beloved daughter, girlfriend and friend.

And using this thread as a platform to spew about "pussy shit" is seriously uncool Biggie. Please take it out of LC's Cell Block if you feel compelled to discuss that topic further.

Yes, I'm happy, despite you acting like an asshole.

I asked you nicely not to go there in Lady Cop's forum. She would have tasered your ass right out of here and her rules stand.

I'm asking you again to please knock it off.

Sal, she had a disease that causes people to lose their hair.

She decided to embrace it rather than let it get the best of her.

Even 3 weeks after she was missing Sam's mom was telling people not to look for a bald head, but that her hair would have grown in by now.

Figures, something told me I'd be looking like an evil asshole after posting that.

I feel a little bad that she has a legitimate disease, but I'm ready to turn the AC down to 67 and go to bed. Good night,
Bizmark and faggot clang.
