10 min on one side 8 min on the other 1.5" thick with baked potatoes sour creme chives and a nice beef/mushroom sauce on the side. Yum Yum.

We found "Pan Searing" steaks a lot less smokey. (Got rid of my BBQ, have not replaced it yet)

And the induction fan in the microwave above the stove top helped suck in the pan searing smoke.

Thanks for the tip, Cars! I'm a horrible cook so there's always the chance that I'm going to fuck it up no matter what it is. I don't even like meat but I will cook it on occasion for others. Now I want to tell you about the ribs I once ate like a savage. Awink

hah    I now and you know what I meant and everyone is just jealous of my supper. 18 min was not to long Sally those things were thick and red and juicy on the inside. And Cars they were cooked on my super crazy great grill.

I've made these filet mignon sandwiches before and they are fucking fantastic. He doesn't say what temp he sets the oven, but after searing the steak in the pan I put mine in the oven at 450 and it came out perfect.
