He's saying he knows more than the scientists. I saw a video of him where he said that bit you quoted after a scientist tried to explain the fires are a result of global warming. If someone could die of hubris, he'd be long dead.

He's not wrong.  With the shit that comes out of his mouth,   do you really think that he uses a teleprompter?    Just because there were 2 in front of him, doesn't mean he used them.
