Biden Term
Could we not be equating Old Yeller with a mangy, flea-bitten mongrel?

Thanks.

Orange Man vs. Old Yeller.

Incompetent champ 1, or incompetent champ 2, some choice. Sad.

Imagine a sports league consisting of only two teams, both stinkers. Then imagine the American electorate.

Not a pretty picture.

Old Yeller won't run in 2024.

My guess . . . Newsom announces his candidacy around the Labor Day Holiday.

And *Poof* . . . the press will then start a full-court press on Biden and his failed Presidency.  Newsom will be hailed as the greatest person to best navigate and heal our divided nation.

Biden will then manufacture some excuse for not running . . . like wanting to spend more time with his granddaughter, Navy.

Then . . . the press will hail him as one of the greatest political leaders and representative in American history.

Newsom is some badly damaged goods. All you'd need to do to beat him would be to post pictures from Californian cities.

You're ignoring the corporate political machine that WILL back him.

California will no longer be his problem.

He beat a recall and is not being held accountable for his draconian and insane policies.

The Black vote will rush to him as he supports reparations.

Need I remind you of his stance on illegal entry to the US?

All he need do is repeat the anti-Trump rhetoric ad nauseum and how it damaged, not only California, but THE WHOLE WORLD!

The machine will do the rest.

You're right if Trump is the candidate. If he isn't then the Democratic devastation of California and America at large will be front and center, and Twitter won't be censoring for the benefit of the Democratic Party. But you still may be right.

The GOP candidate doesn't matter.

All you need to do is tie the GOP nominee to Trump or his policies.

Trump fearmongering is the only path for a win.

Except when the candidate is Biden.

And the party faithful know that, too.

I think that's considerably harder to do when you have an economy that is murdering people who are no longer useful. More and more people understand this because they see it all around them. If Twitter remains committed to not censoring on an ideological basis, these people can bypass the "disinformation" filters and
network on a very significant scale. I don't trust Musk, but if the current policy remains intact at twitter I think it could be a game-changer. It would also effect the ability of the disciples of the Fourth Industrial Revolution to engage in election fraud with impunity.

The only people who are more concerned about Trump than the state of the economy are those who live privileged lives in an ideological bubble, and aren't on the edge of the abyss.

There's a gazillion variables at play here, which is another reason why I don't see this as a done deal. It looks very, very bad at this point, but what we see is for the most part what's on the surface. What lies underneath is connected with the fabric of the multiverse, and the power of the dark nobility is incapable of predicting the consequences of it's implementation -- much less evading them -- because power is mindless. Those who play with it fail to understand that they are slaves at the mercy of something that cannot be fathomed by organic intelligence. Power wields those foolish enough to acquire it with the intention of using it. The only question I see is whether or not they will take everyone else with them when they fall.

Scary times, but incredibly interesting, as well. Quite literally, this is an epoch that is unfolding as we speak. The politics is merely window dressing. Bread and circuses. In times of cataclysmic change, the effectiveness evaporates.

Let us keep our minds strong and see what comes to pass.

Never knew Clang, Mirah and Duchess were so blessed . . . strictly using your criteria (

And the DeSantis (or other traditional GOP) supporters, too.

I am blessed. I just saw the Spin Doctors last Wednesday and Steven Adler from.Guns N Rose's a few weeks ago. Went to an Italian festival and garage sale yesterday, had some great pizza and a cannoli and bought a Chefman air fryer. Then smoked some cigars and played Cornhole.

My criteria is that anyone who isn't on the edge of the abyss is privileged. I feel blessed considering the sorry state of this world. Do you?

Do you see <<Trump / not Trump>> as the be-all and end-all of American politics? Assuming you don't, how would you explain why so many people do?

Is it not an ideological phenomenon that the American electorate elevates personality above policy? Isn't this why attack-ads are effective, because people are more concerned with the person than the message?

Would it not be fair to chartacterize American electoral politics as the art of the ad hominem? What sort of person would you expect to rise up in such a system, noble or ignoble?

So, why is it inaccurate to refer to the cognitive tendencies common to a particular group of people as an ideological bubble? Did you think I was referring to the political dichotomy? If you did you're wrong. I am referring to the manner of thinking, rather than it's output. Red and Blue alike inhabit this bubble, the commonality being the <<XYZ / not XYZ>> format.

This is what dichotomies are designed to do, Tiki: keep the plebs from developing an unhealthy interest in policy.

First, your original statement regarding privilege was one coupled with being in the state of an ideological bubble.  I do not see them as mutually inclusive, as a complete moron can live or be afforded a privileged life . . . and, an ideological sycophant does not denote privilege.  Just like skin color.  One has no bearing on the other.

Second, those who adhere to the XYZ or Not XYZ camps are intolerant and delusional fools.  Neither side sees their myopic vision, nor will give an inch in their positions.  And the media and "experts" fuel the division, happily, for both.  Primitive, tribal, social behavior that we delude ourselves as having evolved away from and outgrown, is always with us.

It's not the inherent tribal aspect of our evolutionary heritage that is disturbing, it is the perversion of the required and absolute nullification of the non-tribal member . . . for the simple reason they are not of the body.

Politics, race, gender, religion, sports . . . the Borg . . . if you refuse to be assimilated, surrender and unquestioningly subscribe to the tribe, you (and your opinions and beliefs) are a threat and you WILL be attacked or cancelled.

Red and Blue both inhabit the bubble . . . and yet their accusing fingers are always pointed to the other, and rarely at themselves.

But are you really surprised that people feel the need to belong to group, even if they don't believe all of the philosophies and practices being sown?

I don't.  It's a basic survival skill for the weak and fearful.  Be part of the pack, lest you be the prey.

Safety in numbers and let someone else do your thinking.  All the while justifying and applauding your "personal" courage and convictions.

That's why I coupled them, because being privileged doesn't necessarily mean you live in that bubble.

Socialization works because human beings are impressionable/malleable as children, to a lesser extent as adults. The blame, as far as I'm concerned, falls on those who perpetuate an education system that is primarily concerned with indoctrination -- a system that is in part based on the old Prussian model.

This is why I see elitism as cancer. They see the masses as little more than livestock, to be herded in accordance with their supremacist notions of what is right and good.

People are what you make of them, and what we see today is the abject failure of those who see themselves as our betters. In actuality, they are nothing more than clever, souless parasites.

We have the capability to rise above tribalism. The primary prerequisite, I think, is critical thinking, which gets back to education. Ending standardization would be
a huge step in the right direction. Competition with respect to thoughts and ideas is absolutely essential to achieving and maintaining a healthy and dynamic society.
