Things are costing more, we've all noticed and we posted briefly about the rising gas prices, but are there other things that you're noticing that cost more? I don't intend for this to be a completely serious thread even tho this is a serious subject. For example, I use baby oil and the bottle I bought in December was $2.50, I went to order more yesterday and it's now $4.00. I know that's not a serious thing and it's not going to affect my life, it's silly. What's costing more for you?

Plexi glass has gone down.Regular steel, Galvanized metal is inching down a little but Copper and Aluminium is rising fast. Plastic or anything that's in it is up. I've been reading up on the Carter years lately after finishing my last book called "The Stockholm syndrome" I didn't like it when I started it but loved it towards the end.

I dry off with it when I get out of the shower, I use it as an all over body moisturizer.

That would drive me crazy, I'd feel so greasy. I have a body lotion that I really like the smell of, but the greasy feeling of it on my hands and skin bothers me too much so I very rarely use it.

I don't use enough to leave a sheen, it's nothing like what you would see bodybuilders doing. *cringe*

Ha! I used to take my mascara off with my mom's olive oil. Funny old memory.

I was reading that the price of gas continues to rise because of the turmoil in the world and that we not only produce our own oil, but the oil we do import comes mostly from Canada & Mexico.

Avocado oil is better, but getting pricey these days. Do avoid products that are petroleum-based if you can, as they only add to the stress our immune systems have to endure.

We were not importing any oil last year. i have a feeling that Brandon will cave and listen to people soon. Especially the public outcry. You know it's all about elections not the cost of oil. That does not affect the DC rulers. We pay for their gas. They just kick back and try to tell other minions what to do.

I don't understand a lot of this at all. If we have our own oil and we get some from friendly neighbors, why is Russian even in the equation? We shouldn't be asking anything whatsoever from Russia.
As an aside, I read earlier that Kentucky school teacher's retirement funds were wrapped up in Russian banks, WTF is up with that?

What I said was not correct. The U.S. became a net exporter in 2020 meaning we exported more than imported. The first time since 1949. We exported 8.5 million barrels and imported 7 million barrels. Give or take a drop.

This is sounding even crazier to me. Shouldn't we be supplying ourselves? What am I not getting? Has it been made more complicated than it needs to be?

Exporting isn't sound policy, either, given the geo-strategic/economic volatility. I think the ideal would be building up a strategic reserve, to be utilized under strict regulations that couldn't be circumvented by the executive branch. Both parties have weakened congressional and judicial oversight of the executive branch. That needs to be corrected so we can have policy that serves the public interest.
