I don't think I could live any place that has huntsman spiders. *shudders* Do you ever think about them, Aussie?

Down where I am living there is deadly spiders that are black but not as big as huntsman spiders. Those cockroaches and bugs and huntsman spiders are in the hotter States. That is one good thing about living here. They also have these big old ugly cane toads too. In New South Wales they had a plague of mice that were eating everything, I mean everything. So none of that here, but it is corrupt down here, and there are many hardships and many suffering. The nasty bugs we have are human.

I passed “2” Teslas broken down on side of the road today. 

And a few days ago a Tesla parked next me in the parking lot. 
So I asked the driver how she liked her Tesla, she said not that much, 
do I want to buy it, I said no thanks.

Wow, I finally looked up how long it takes to fully charge a EV. So many factors involved, so many changing stations with problems, 3 levels of charging speeds. Level 1 Trickle charge, can Take up to 
“30” hours. Level 2 Fast charge, 240 volt plug can take between 4 to 7 hours. Level 3 Rapid charge, 
this 400 to 600 volt charge can reach 80% charge in half an hour. However, sadly this speed is toughest 
on the battery. Many automakers have a warning in their car manuals, frequent use of level 3 charging 
can negatively impact battery performance and durability, and recommend minimizing its usage!
Not very appealing to me. 

As an aside, I would be concerned being stuck on the road in traffic jam in a winter snow for hours with the “electric heater” on! 

And conversely in Florida stuck in a road in a traffic jam with the electric A/C on! 


All this, after spending $$$$.  As far as I’m concerned a EV is not for me.

So now my sister has made the trek over the mountain passes to see me 3 times. This last time I was with her as she drove me home. The car overheated in the 90+ heat we had yesterday. She had to pull over and park in the shade for the vehicle to cool down. The repair facility just recommended her getting it towed immedietly. She decided not to do that. 
Got it charged and she took off today.

THE FUNNY THING about this whole scenario-last night the charging stations were full. There was a charging station just out of town in which we were about to call at taxi (no uber in this town) to get us back. How ironic is that.

Still-it is a great commuter car for her-she charges at home, and she can charge at work for free. But for long trips it wasn't very fun, especially when we had to turn off the AC. Ugh.

Today I saw 8 Teslas on the road within 5 miles, guess they are around even 
though after hearing the many horror stories of problems Teslas have.

I drove my sister's electric vehicle today. The first thing that threw me off was when I started it and I couldn't hear it-since it has no engine.
The shifter is weird. It's a Nissan Aryia.

We drove it over the mountains. It has seat heaters which is nice, but the heat is rarely turned on-so I brought a blanket just in case and I needed it. As soon as the sun went down (at 3 pm) I got cold.

We are driving it down to Vancouver tomorrow, even tho we could drive my mom's gas car. We will stop at least once each way to charge "Just in case" even tho it should make it there and back on one charge.

We are leaving at 9 AM to get to our relatives at 1.
