THE 2023 THREAD NO ONE WANTED TO MAKE
I have drain flies. In my shower, not my vagina for you comedians out there. Anyway they got into a crack in the grout and laid larvae and now I see black worms. Now I'm completely freaked out and I have a drain cleaning company coming tomorrow. I have OCD about cleaning so it's like I'm cursed or something. Last month it was fleas despite giving the dogs and cats monthly flea treatment.

Are they sand fleas?

Well the whole damn neighborhood is overrun with stray cats ever since I asked God to fix the rat infestation we had. I think the fleas are coming from them. I had to have the whole yard sprayed.

Ugh! I hate bugs like that.

I fear I will experience them here quite often. So far I've seen box elder bugs, which are pretty harmless. When I was unpacking my vehicle I left all the doors open and they were all over inside. I had to drive the next day with the windows down hoping they would fly out.

Also...I looked up "drain flys" the pic hasn't loaded yet, I might regret it.

*edit* oh yeah! those things. I guess you already tried any natural home remedies? I just saw the good ol vinegar thing.

Drain flys are harmless, just gross. They usually breed from standing water or clogged drains. I have neither so like I said I'm cursed. I tried bleach, salt, vinegar and boiling water on those little bastards. I even poured some old moonshine I had in the cabinet down the drain, but all that did was show them a good time. I had to call in a professional.

Are they tiny like gnats?

I posted it in this thread because I didn't want to screw up Tiki's serious thread where she mentioned rothschild's woo-woo.

A hike I am about to do. Wtf

Keep an eye out for the ant lion pits which usually cover the first part of this trail. These small depressions in the sandy soil are dug by ant lion larvae, and are used to trap ants and other small insects. The ant lion lies buried, waiting at the bottom of the pit. When it senses that something has fallen into the trap, its thrashing head quickly emerges to drag its prey underground in a flurry of flying sand.

And don't look up antlion! Its gross! Not cute like the drain fly.

God help me. The quickest way to get me to do something is to tell me not to.

Drain flys are not cute, but I guess they're better than an ant lion infestation.

I left my windows open while unpacking my vehicle and got a bunch of box elder bugs. They are harmless, but they were still in the vehicle when I drove it the next day so I left the windows open as I drove hoping they would fly out. I probably already told this story!

The bugs out here are kind of a lot tho. I feel like where I lived before was a lot of pesticides for the orchards and not as many bugs and now there isn't the pesticides so lots of interesting bugs.

I might have drain flies. I have a drain line leak and mold in my kitchen wall and ceiling by the sink. Maintenance is coming tomorrow to start to fix it. Judging by the note they left me, sounds like it will be a week long project. I moved all the stuff from the area as they asked me in the note they left me. I hope they didn't me  want to move everything out of the kitchen. I don't know where I'd put it all.
