Ron Desantis.

Hes getting a good press over here, that he has common sense, down to earth, anti woke, pro Brexit, which means he like Limeys, and handled covid properly.

Did you know covid  killed those mostly over 80 with underlying conditions?, yes i know others did too.      Lockdown, masks etc was a waste of time.   Our ex health minister wanted  to get people to lockdown and wear masks by announcing a new strain that didnt exist, how evil is that.   Covid was just a cold.

De Santis looks like a ray of hope, is he?

More people moved to Florida than any other state throughout the pandemic for a reason, we had freedom and their forced vaccines and lockdowns werent working. The liberals wouldn't know common sense if it fell out of the sky and hit them on the head.

We had the opposite experience here. Schools were closed, people worked from home (which is a whole other thing here now, people loved it and so did most employers and much of it has continued.) There was only a small segment of society here who opposed it. Generally speaking, it worked well and our state didn't have the number of hospitalizations and deaths that other states experienced. Masks were still required in many places (state run) as recently as January and I still see people in enclosed places who are masked up.

Yes.

Florida's is 22 million. The lockdown was killing small businesses and not everyone has the type of job they can do from home. Plus it did nothing to stop transmission so it was lifted.

I just submitted a permit request in Los Angeles from Portugal. Need to learn Adobe better though.

So actually if you go deaths per 100,000 people your state didn't fare much better.

To determine if a state with strict covid measures did better than one without then you would need to consider demographics, right. It seems that you conveniently skipped over that. Also Florida has one of the highest senior citizen populations in the country which needs to be considered as well.

You said it worked well, but how do you actually know that it did if you don't compare the demographics to a state that took different covid measures? You can't just say that your state of 1 million had few deaths and hospitilations compared to a state of 22 million and then blame it on Ron Desantis.

I know it worked well because I communicate with the people in my town & neighborhood. I was relating my experience through that and also what I read when others throughout the state shared their experiences. Not everyone was satisfied and I said that as well. I didn't mention your authoritarian governor at all.

How exactly is he authoritarian? Allowing people to continue to operate their businesses, make choices about their own healthcare, allow schools to open up, not force people to wear ridiculous dust masks, not force "vaccines" that dont stop transmission in order for people to keep their jobs, pass a parental rights bill that says instruction on sexual orientation and gender identity along with age inappropriate books shouldn't be allowed in K-3, pass a common sense abortion law and expect judges to uphold it because that's what they are required to do and tell woke Disney World to go fuck themselves and their special tax credit? What a little Hitler he is.

How about just answer the question since you are claiming it. How exactly is he authoritarian?

You do discredit to yourself and everyone else when you make claims based on what the media told you and don't back it up.

Don't say gay

Book banning

He's gone after colleges and their curriculum--Black history

Punishing Disney because they don't agree with him

Keeps press out of his events

Do I really need to keep going? You're living it and are fine with it. It's backwoods, Sally.

You're the one who bought desantis into the conversation, I didn't.

No one around to argue with at home?
