Ive heard some horror stories, like working extra hours and not paid for it because its expected, and when your sick. Meanwhile the rich get richer, and the poor poorer, it seems to me that modern slavery exists.
Dont you have legislation that protects the workers, whats it really like?
Hot Damn, theres me being yankee, im presuming persons on here can hold a job. Your an employer Sally, whats the job market like. ?

Those work hammocks they provide for us are cozy. Made from the very cotton I picked. Oh well, my 30 second break is almost up....back to the white slavery fields.

The company I worked for had two classes of employees, hourly employees, that had to punch in on a time clock at time in and punch out at time left.
And then there was the salaried employees, that did not have to punch in & out
on a time clock.
The hourly employee had a regular work week that consisted of Monday thru
Friday at 8 hours a day. With a 10 minute break in the morning, noon to 1pm lunch break, and a 10 minute break in the afternoon.
Any work hours greater than 8 hours in the day that were done Monday thru Friday were paid at 1-1/2 wage time.
Any Saturday work hours at all were paid at 1-1/2 wage time.
Salaried employees were paid substantially more for a 40 hour work week than
the hourly employees. They were considered “professionals”. For the most part,
they usually didn’t have to work longer than 8 hour days.
They were on their honor to put in 8 hour work days, as long as they covered the major work day. If there were times that they could not meet their work schedule
then they would work longer then 8 hours a day, until they were back on schedule
Not many, if any at all workers felt taken advantage of.

I wish my salaried ass got an hour lunch break. I get two 15 minute breaks and a half hour lunch break.

Is it true that you only get two weeks holiday each year, un paid.? When i worked i had five weeks annual leave plus bank holidays which is a day off for everyone, that was five or six days a year.
The French have it better, i dont think those people work at all, the country is constantly on the brink of going bust. Thatcher turned the socialist crap around, despite that, i dont think you can match the above. We have a 37 and a half hour week.
When i was over there i got talking to a bloke, strabgely in a cigar shop, i smoked back then. He said it doesnt take much to be a success in the US, just work hard.

37.5 hour work week. Monday through Friday. Lots of paid holiday, vacation, sick time, 5 personal days a year.

Having a work ethic is a good thing. It's not something to scorn.

We were poor too, but not gubberment cheese poor. I ate alot of bologna and cheese sandwiches. The plastic cheese with the cheese slices individually wrapped in plastic.

That’s the way we do it. We have salary employees that have been with us for years, but finding hourly laborers is hard. Most of them call and then don’t even show up to fill out the application unless they’re Mexican.

It's hard enough that you could seriously hurt someone if you clubbed them over the head with a 10lb brick.

Why would you give poor people weird cheese? Couldn’t they give out some veggies or something?

I remember black kids in school talking about government cheese. I was poor too, how come I didn’t get that fucking cheese? I guess my lazy bum parents never applied for it.

It melts really well though. Velveeta is good for making slow cooker nacho cheese dip.
