MANDATORY MILITARY SERVICE

I was reading about how all Israelis have to serve in their military, it's mandatory that they all serve 2 years 8 months. Reading that made me wonder when the draft ended here so I looked it up (1973) and discovered that all US males and male immigrants ages 18-25 are required to register with Selective Service. Are any of you aware of that? I wasn't and I've never heard any guys talk about it.

Both of my boys had to register. Technically, you're supposed to do it within 30 days of your 18th birthday.
My oldest registered at 20, he had to register before he could get a concealed carry permit. The other one registered at 18, because he applied for a college loan, and you have to register when you fill out the fasfa forms.
