Baggers
#1
If you go to a grocery store with baggers are you satisfied with the work they do? It used to seem like an art, now its "stuff everything into 1 bag even when I brought 2 or 3 with me and I specifically ask for them to use all of them so 1 bag isn't too heavy."

Be more assertive, stand right in front of them glaring, or tell them to spread it out when they deviate from your request.

Or just make an irritated thread about it on a forum...

Its strange, I just re-pack it when I get to my car before carrying it inside and I think it was just that person, but then it happens again-so definitely a me problem.

I really struggle with being irritated in person when i can just say something that puts an end to it.

I used to put up with it all the time until like 20years ago when i found out saying exactly what i think when im thinking it is incredibly cathartic, i could never go back to the days of saying nothing then as i walk away being pissed off.

Theres only a handful of people i bite my tongue with and they are all women who are an everyday part of my life, sometimes the juice just aint worth the squeeze.

Yes it is a problem,  you just have to keep telling the numbskulls do not make the bags too heavy for me! We have to keep telling them over and over again do not overload the bags.
After they hear that 4 or 5 times it finally seems to sink in.

I go through the self checkout so I can bag my own groceries and steal a few things. It ain't my fault that bag of potatos didn't ring up, I could have sworn I heard it ring when I swiped them.

You bag your own here and they are allowed to sit.

I often do my own, but the times I don't, I don't have a problem with how they do it.

When you specifically ask for it to be done a certain way and they don't do it, it is flat out rude and chances are those that manage those people would see it the same way.

I remember watching the baggers at the commisary on the military base. Those guys had it down. And we always got a frosted sugar cookie as kids. I think those baggers worked for tips only, but they made good $.

I used to bag groceries. It is an art. And a game. It was like Tetris and I'm good at Tetris.

Don't you have that job anymore Clang? I hope people were nice to you? I am always super nice to anyone who helps me with bagging groceries or scans my groceries. It's not an easy job. Respect for our workers.

No I don't have that job anymore. Coming up in about 2 weeks, my 9 year workiversary at the NYS DMV Title Bureau. People were  generally nice to me. A few crazies though like a 80 year old nun that basically threatened to whack my hands with a ruler if I didn't bag her groceries right.

I think as long as you don't have people sabotaging you at work and hurting you, you should just get on with it. That's my attitude.

No one is sabotaging me but myself. I'm introverted and socially awkward so I don't talk much to my coworkers and they don't talk much to me. Mostly just "Good morning! How are you?" And then they start walking away before I can finish saying "Good, ok, or alright."

Embrace yourself, accept yourself and work through self sabotage. It's not helpful to your life Clang. Especially if it is unconscious. Become aware of it, change it, and power onto the next level.

I sound like Dr. Phil but he turned out to be a fraud and a creep.

I'm better off than I was 30 years ago. It's been a slow process but I'll get there someday. Thanks Aussie.  Blowing-kisses
