Its cold today but I refuse to wear a 2^nd layer other than my jacket. And I didn't put on my boots! (but my rain boots are in my car because some places are muddy)

I’m doing the opposite this year. I’ve spent the last few years freezing my ass off in winter so this year I stocked up on some fleece lined thermal under clothes and new jackets and stuff, lol (even though “freezing” to me isn’t actually freezing). I’ve found it a little more tolerable by wearing a ton of layers.  Ur a nut anyway. I SAW pics of you smiling in the snow which still baffles me. I’m definitely getting more persnickety about temps in my old age.

I’m getting an x-ray on my foot on Friday. Hoping I graduate to normal hiking boots vs the cement block that I have to wear now. Regardless on Saturday I’m heading to So. Cal to be with my 89 y/o mom cuz she needs some help right now.
Feeling a little sandwiched but such is life.

Well at the time of that picture-we did just finish the coldest parts of our winter season. 3 layers-or a base layer of the thick fleece pants-and I was wearing snow pants all winter-like even to work. In that picture I am in jeans and that was probably the first day I was wearing them and not my snow pants.

I am pesnickety also-but getting closer and closer to spring like temps I get excited with each new layer I get to shed. (I probably had a layer under those jeans by the way!

Yeah. I’m just north of S.F. and we got pretty slammed today (the rain wasn’t awful but we got high winds). Lost power for a few hours.

Anyway Saturday looks like a good day to go down weather wise. I just booked everything for a week.

Not looking forward to slogging through the TSA line with my damn boot and carry on but it will be fine and I’m looking forward to the change of scenery and hanging out with mom.

I grew up in Palos Verdes (if ur familiar with the area) and the house is dated (my parents bought it…50 years ago or so) but it’s a 5 bedroom with pretty ocean/Catalina island views. I took it for granted in my youth but realized in adulthood…I can’t believe I grew up HERE. It’s nice.

My parents bought the place in 1972 for $82k and it’s worth around $2.7mm. While it has a great view it’s about a ¹⁄₂ mile from the ocean as the crow flies.

The influx of mansions along the cliffs down there didn’t really start until the early 80’s.

Wow, nice. I won the VA repo auction in 1997 for $127,500 on my first house, it was so awesome to be a homeowner. It had a nice little workbench in the garage, the house was pretty small at 1300 sq. ft. but it was intelligently designed and good for a family of four. Now it's valued at $750,000 on a busy street in Rancho Cucamonga! It had sat empty of over Two years and the neighbor's would mow the weeds. As I attempted to get the garage lock off with an old worn out pair of bolt cutters I heard someone clear their throat, in a german accent the guy from across the street said " Hey either you're the world's worst burglar or my new neighbor".

My husband and I bought our last house (4 bedrooms, 2 ¹⁄₂ baths on ¹⁄₄ acre (if that) 2,400 square feet for $282k. It served the 4 of us well for 24 years. When I moved out for a few years my rent for a little 3 bedroom duplex was way higher than the mortgage payment on our house. I know there are times renting makes sense but renting here is exorbitant.
We sold our house at the exact right time (had a bidding war over it) for $1.27mm. Shocker.
Meanwhile we had to participate in a bidding war for our current place to so…in some respect we bought at the wrong time but our mortgage interest rate is only 2.7% so there’s that!!

Every damn week (although I’m ordering very small quantities I guess). I don’t smoke the stuff but Ray the delivery guy probably thinks that’s how I broke my damn foot.

My son can’t find his stupid drivers license to go pick up his own.

Ugghh! I used to smoke in my youth (periodically) and it made me chill/kinda tired. Now though the 6-7 times I’ve tried either smoking it or having some edibles in the last 5 years, it just makes me frustratingly stupid. Like…”why did I enter this room? What was I planning?”. I’m not a fan. 
My son will smoke a doobie and he doesn’t outwardly appear any different except for maybe a little red eyed.

My oldest daughter is like my husband and can smoke it and just be relaxed and nothing else. My son is like me and it gives us anxiety and feels like we're stuck in our head stupid. Like you can't think straight and just wish it would go away. Not my cup of tea.

The neighbor girl is learning to read and tell time. It was 4:02 today and she said, "4:20" then her mom and sister corrected her and she said, "What does 4:20 mean" I think she heard something. She is 5. lol Her mom replied, it means 20 minutes after 4.
