I celebrate Harvest Night (Samhain) in quite a different way. I am a solitary Wiccan and my tradition is pretty eclectic (leaning more towards Kemetic/Voudun). I keep the basis of Wicca at the heart of my rituals however, I make choices when it comes to the process in which I carry out my celebrations.
While I don't leave libations or food out for those who have crossed over I do communicate with them often and more frequently during this time of harvest than any other. They are invited "in" and allowed to speak freely (they don't actually talk but this is as close as I can describe it). It's not a "spooky" or "ghostly" type of interaction. It is just simply .......basic association and an opportunity to come into the knowledge of things YOU WOULDN'T EVEN BELIEVE if I dared to share it with you.
