You can allow html in posts in the admin cp if you want.

I'm with Frank, on any regular chat forum there is no need to have members post html code in the posts, especially with all the bb code mods available to us with the new software.

As for not needing it on a regular forum? Rubbish. Instead of having the NEED to implement a bunch of complex regex based custom MyCodes, allow the html. It also makes for copy/paste compatibility without the need to change all the html code to equivalent MyCodes.

It used to get used daily over on www.mordel.net when that forum was hyperactive. Now its still used fairly frequently compared to the post frequency.
