If anyone lurking here wants to do some reading and see if they can handle shit in the newbie forum, more power to them. I think people generally find themselves more clever and more witty than they actually are, so they will think they can take on the evil Sinister and make me cry.

Well, difference of opinion or vision, I guess. Because I called the Newibe Initiation & Torture forum that name for a reason. Meaning, I liked the idea of purposefully not making it like a typical site in that way. It speaks to the center core of mocking - making you feel bad, bothering you, causing you harm in some way.

I know that you are basically correct in the sense that the risk I took, and that Sinister was willing to take since she evolved and managed it, is less sign-ups. I even concede that it may in fact result in less sign-ups. But I thought that would be more of a short-term kink since I felt the benefits of a real Initiation & Torture forum would more than compensate for that.

I imagine myself (and since people like me are candidate members at Mock, I put some value on this) joining a site like Mock and not only not minding that I have some posting fight thing I have to go through, but looking forward to.

I'm thinking that if people mocking you and forcing you to defend yourself good enough to get out of the newbie forum turns you off, you are probably on the wrong site.

It is, after all, something not unlike you'd be doing once you had full access, anyway.

Until I am forced to re-examine my views due to a strong reason, like because a year or so from now the site has no more activity than it does currently, then so be it. Until then, I'm going with fuck them, they can earn it and the people here who are helping grow it, like you, like Sinister, like jackboots who is a mod, can have the fun of torture and coordinated attacks.

The newbie initiation torture is an essential part of the mock experience. It lets newbies know what type of people hang around here and tests whether or not they have the required tools to operate here effectively.

I would say the Newbie thread is like the Shaolin temple, where new students are left standing outside with no food orwaterat the mercy of the elements, only those with the required stamina and willpowerto endure are granted entry.

I am suprised that there are not more members already, this place is surely a healthy antidote to nearly all the other forums available?, or maybe we are just the cream of the crop when it comes to internet pricks?
