Didn't it ever occur to her that she's on the internet, one of the biggest and best research tools to investigate this rumor? Doesn't she fucking realize that this would be a huge news story, right up there with Heath Ledger, and there isn't any way she couldn't NOT know about it?
Yet instead she posts this incredibly stupid question in an online forum. And the thread is now going on three pagesas other members reassure her that, no, there's nothing about his death. This, after they've all independently tried to verify the story.

This happens all the time in another forum I am a member of.
I often post ridiculous celebrity deaths myself to see how many fuckwits will just except the death as truth without doing any basic research.
My personal favourite was "Britney Spears dies of spontaneous human combustion".
