It doesn't look to me like the dog is 'viciously' attacking the baby squirrel, but I'm sure the little guy wouldn't have survived playtime with black dog.

I agree, Lumpy.

The dog doesn't look like it had any intention of 'killing' the baby squirrel, though he may have accidentally. If the dog had actually been vicious, it probably would have grabbed momma squirrel and torn her to bits. I'm sure she took it by surprise though. Nice photography, but I always have to wonder... 'why did the photographer just stand there snapping pictures?' I would have been shooing the dog away from the squirrel to begin with.
