If anything good came from the storm that would be it.

220 mph wind gusts in the Bahamas. It's like one gigantic slow moving tornado.

I've been following the updates and they just keep getting scarier. I want to see something from the Bahamas. I want to see what it looks like after Dorian passes. 220 mph wind gusts sound devastating :(

Yes since noon. I've stayed here for several, but this one has me extremely worried.

If by tomorrow this thing stays the strength it is and is going to impact central Florida, my evacuation plan is to take a flight out of here with the dog. I don't care if first class is the only thing available to anywhere but here. I'll pay it. 7 people and a dog and a rabbit first class to vegas.

I just happen to be going there, let's do lunch!

BTW, like a screen door in a hurricane.

Why does Trump keep putting his two cents into it like he knows fuck all about the weather. I know he's the president of the US and has to say something, but he sounds like a goddamn idiot. As usual. I do find it comical, however, that he just says whatever the hell he wants to. He said Alabama is under a threat and the national weather service had to correct him and had to make a point that they are absolutely under no threat lol.

I have been laughing at his words-as if I need or anyone needs the president to tell us to "be careful".
I am glad to hear finally that you have an exit plan. I was upset in hearing that your husband wanted to stay and was curious about it-because I would imagine that most living in hurricane paths have an actual exit plan. Yes?

We are usually not too scared about them, but this one has beat all the odds and is keeping strong. I sat out on my porch during Irma and went out during Charley in the pitch black dark when my dog got out. This seems to be a whole different beast. Hope I'm wrong.

Damn Sally, I'm watching the devastation occurring in the Bahamas right now on the weather channel, and can only imagine the feeling you're going through at this time! 220 mph gusts, and 175 to 185 mph sustained winds and torrential rain is just mind blowing!
The uncertainty of what "They" are saying the possibilities are that can/will hit Florida is nerve racking! What ever you do, the very BEST OF LUCK, and hoping you and yours Stay Safe!

Yeah, drinking coffee.

So, are you firm in your decision to ride it out? What are your neighbors doing?

My very good friend (in Deerfield Beach is staying) saying their house is CBC and has a steel Roof!
I hope they are right to stay! Wishing them best of luck!

Beachside has a mandatory evacuation, but most of my neighbors are staying anyway, but I have everything packed and ready to go. I think we are going to a hotel in Gainesville as it looks like it's going right up the coast.

Sally, I just want you to know that a Christian organization were out on a pier in JAX attempting to pray away the hurricane. I hope this helps, hun.
