Court documents released today shed more light on an early Monday incident that left a Springfield man hospitalized and four men in custody.
Documents that led to a charge of first-degree assault against Davy Lee Montgomery, 32, show how his alleged victim fled after being severely beaten in a mobile home near Republic.
The documents do not specify what led to the beating, but Montgomery allegedly uttered a single phrase before asking for an attorney.
“He stole my gun!”
According to the probable cause statement, a bruised and bloody Thomas Oliver, 23, knocked on the back door of mobile home No. 29 in Alpine Village Mobile Home Park, 7534 W U.S. 60.
Oliver asked for help. The resident of the trailer didn’t open the door, but called 911, according to the document.
When Greene County deputies arrived, they found Oliver, semi-conscious and badly beaten.
While in and out of consciousness, Oliver told officers that four to five males assaulted him with a black pistol, a hammer, a flash light and nunchucks, :O according to the statement.
Just as officers were getting the information from Oliver, three women arrived at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
The 23-year-old woman and two female juveniles were hesitant to talk to law enforcement but said they were worried about their friend, Oliver, who had been badly beaten, according to the statement.
The document said the women were vague and somewhat incoherent when speaking to officers.
The women said a man named “Dave” was involved in beating Oliver and they were at a trailer that fit the description of the Alpine Village address, according to the document.
Meanwhile, officers followed Oliver’s blood trail at Alpine Village to mobile home No. 27 and knocked on the door, according to the document.
Montgomery answered the door with blood covered hands, arms, bare chest, jeans and socks, according to the statement.
Montgomery told officers he wanted to get “his” blood off of him, according to the document. Officers believed he was referring to Oliver.
Montgomery was arrested. A large amount of blood evidence was found in the living room of the trailer, according to the document.

A Chelsea man beat his wife over a missing ingredient for the lasagna he was making during “Monday Night Football” hours before she was found dead in their driveway, authorities said.
What the fuck. I just can't say it enough...
It's the hint of arsenic that gives it that extra kick.

Good thing that metal cover was just laying around there on the bed?
Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.

Just so y'all know...all the mobile homes pictured on these pages are standard run down places all around our counties in FL and quite the norm. I shit you not! They charge $400 to $500 a month not including utilities around here for your standard 2br/2ba metal sided, mold stained, sticky carpet, and you gotta clean it if you wanna rent it! But they don't allow pets! Really, ya think in a shit hole like these/those it really matters where the stink comes from or whether an animal or human left the stain on the carpet? Ewwww, I just made myself sick. It's just inhumane the prices they charge nowadays for shithole homes being rented out around here. I don't know how it is everywhere else. Used to, being a seasonal town and parts somewhat rural you could rent a very nice older brick 3⁄2 ranch for $500 to $700 but now they are $1000 to $1200. What the hell. People are broke and those homes are just sitting or folks move in and spend every penny they got and get evicted in less than six mos.. It's so sad. It's sad everywhere.
Just another Tuesday night down at the Trailerama Trailer Park in Marathon last night, where a crazily bearded fellow named Fidel grabbed a rusty machete and attacked his roommate, who narrowly escaped a gruesome end by hurling cinder blocks at Fidel's head. Life in the Keys!
The trouble went down around 8 p.m. last night when Eduardo Gonzalez, a 45-year-old Trailerama resident, told his roommate -- an unemployed 52-year-old fisherman named Fidel Gutierrez -- that he'd have to move out of the trailer, according to a police report.
Fidel did not take the news well. Gonzalez says Gutierrez "became enraged," ran into the kitchen, grabbed a "wooden handled rusty machete" and began swinging it at him.
Gonzalez "hurled two large cinder blocks at Fidel in defense," Monroe County Sheriff's officers write in the report. But Fidel was able to strike Gonzalez twice in the forearm with the blade before running off.
Officers later found Gutierrez hiding out in a heavily wooded area, covered in blood. He told police that Gonzalez had actually attacked him with the machete first, yet the only wound on his arm looked to be from a cinder-block blow.
Gonzalez, meanwhile, required "multiple staples" to close the "open flap of skin on his left arm," and an ER nurse reports that the machete attack likely severed his tendons.
Gutierrez faces a felony charge of attempted murder.
MACCLENNY, Fla. -- Miranda Wilkerson will turn 4 in a couple of days, but right now her mother's family doesn't know if it will be there to wish her a happy birthday in person.
This month, a judge awarded custody to Miranda's father.
Miranda's mother, Trista Crews Coleman, was killed in a car wreck one month after Miranda was born. "She's been with me since she drew breath," said Rita Manning, Crews Coleman's mom and Miranda's grandmother.
Manning said the legal mess began in 1997 when Crews Coleman was 14 and met Donald Coleman, 38. "Next thing I know, I've got a grandchild on the way."
When Coleman and the teen married in May 1997, Manning signed off on it because of the baby on the way. "I signed for them to get married for that reason only."
But Coleman was arrested, and court records show he pleaded guilty to a sex crime involving a child under 16. He got probation and had to register as a sex offender. The Colemans had three children together, but in 2005 Manning said her daughter left him.
"She couldn't afford a divorce (because) she was supporting three kids on their own," she said.
Two months before Crews Coleman died, her husband filed for divorce; the petition noted that she was pregnant with another man's child.
According to her family, after Crews Coleman died, Coleman pushed for custody of Miranda when Manning tried to adopt her.
"Even though they were divorcing, even though he knows she was pregnant by another man, he still had to be notified," she said.
After months in court, Manning said a Baker County judge decided July 1 to give Coleman custody. "Does Miranda know what's going on?" said Manning. "Yes, I've told her; she gets hysterical."
Coleman, now a registered sex offender with a history of domestic violence and aggravated assault, is able to get custody of Miranda because he was still married to Crews Coleman at the time of Miranda's birth and is considered the legal father.
"Her whole world is here (so) how could a judge do that?" said Manning.
At Coleman's Georgia home, a woman answered the door and said Coleman wasn't there.
"I have a feeling why you are here," she said. "I'm not gonna say the word and get custody of a 4-year-old."
When asked why Coleman wanted Miranda, she did not respond. Coleman's attorney declined to comment, saying adoption cases are private.
Manning is not giving up. She tells Miranda, "Nana is doing everything she can so you don't got to leave me..and I won't let go."
Miranda's biological father told us he has hired an attorney to try and get Miranda out of the sex offender's home.
New Port Richey, Florida - Residents of a Pasco County neighborhood say they're living in fear and frustration because of a violent neighbor who they feel has a drinking problem. NO SHIT??
They say 52-year-old Dale McDaniel has chased neighbors down with a chainsaw and even assaulted a disabled man confined to a wheelchair by slapping him in the face with a fish.
"He's a scary person, especially when he gets violent," said neighbor Victoria Breitfeller. "He's grabbed me by the throat in the past. That's not something you forget."
Neighbors say not only does McDaniel have an overgrown, trash-filled yard, but he can often be seen urinating in it. He's also known to shout profanities at those who walk past his house.
McDaniel admits he's been arrested 34 times in Pasco County. Deputies were called out to his home Thursday after receiving more complaints from neighbors.
"They've had problems with me for years and I ain't worried about it," said McDaniel Friday afternoon. "I'm not a menace. They just don't know how to deal with me."
But many neighbors are convinced McDaniel has a severe drinking problem. Some of them are working to get restraining orders against their neighbor, convinced he is a danger.

A body was found tied into a quilt and stuffed under a trailer Monday afternoon at the El Paso Mobile Home Community at 15 El Paso Blvd. near Manitou Springs.
The trailer had been the residence of a man who was arrested in February for allegedly robbing a nearby pizza shop with a machete.
Bob Derge, a workman, was removing skirting from the trailer to ready it for a move when he found the body. He said he didn’t realize what he found was human until he pulled back the quilt and saw hair and an ear.
The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death, but offered few details Monday.
“Obviously, finding a body under a trailer is suspicious,” said sheriff’s spokesman Sgt. Mike Schaller.
Aww LC. I think she'd get a kick out of knowing how taken aback I am when I see her name as the author of what I momentarily think is a new thread. It's freaky!
When I think of trailer parks I think of the ones I see whenever I go to Florida. They are lovely & well cared for, not the kind we sometimes hear about in the news and they look like they're in the ghetto.

They have some pretty trashy trailer parks here too, some of them are so bad that I'd rather live in a tent in the woods.
In California, it seems like it depends on where the trailer park is located more so than the age of the residents. I've seen some really bad senior trailer parks here.
The trailer parks tucked in a corner of a nice suburb (like where my youngest sister and her kids live) are cute and well-maintained. The ones on the coast usually are too. The ones in the boondox are pretty bad, for the most part.
I think I'd be fine living in a trailer park, so long as it wasn't drama or crime-ridden. But, probably not in California; my little sister pays almost as much to rent the space as a lot of people who bought their non-mobile houses only like 10 yearlier than she bought her trailer home pay in mortgage. And, trailer homes don't rise in equity here like standard residential homes.
You're somewhat of a dick. You start that stupid "give me my daily bread" thread, complain about people screwing it up with their homosexual talk and then come here and talk about fucking another woman. Whether it's a joke or not it's still disrespectful to your wife. Go now to your daily bread thread and repent.

Calm down Sal.
My goodness, HotD knows I’ve had a thing for her for years... and that nothing’s ever going to happen.
I’m not disrespecting my wife or God.
Now, if I was PM’ing her, sending dick pics, or being rude and grotesque in detail, you’d have a point.
Jimmy's Malibu trailer was a very cool bachelor pad, no doubt about it.
But, in the real world, I don't think he'd have been able to just park it and live there without paying a fortune even back in the 70s.
Sal might have a point, MS. Tell us about that detailed dream you mentioned the other day in the political forum and we, the Mock judge and jury, will decide if you've virtually betrayed your wife and/or your God? ')
