They are soft in the center, and the tops are shiny and crinkled just like a regular brownie...and they were SUPER easy to make, seriously...like even Duchess could make these! (I'll post the recipe if anyones interested) As much as I like sweets, I hate baking (and never do it; I've never made cupcakes, believe it or not). I think if I enjoyed it, I'd be big as a house. After damaging my shoulder, I wasn't making my weekly sourdough waffles.
Pat's Run is this weekend. My contribution to the post-race brunch is sourdough rolls. The starter ain't bubbling after last night's feeding . . .

Cracker . . . you’re pure genius! It’s not Herman’s-style, but you got me thinking . . .
“Add a teaspoon of sugar.” It’s ALIVE! For you minimalists, here is the recipe I use for my starter’s feeding “excess”. Alaskan Sourdough Waffles: Start heating the waffle iron(s): 3 cups of active sourdough starter at room temperature 2 Eggs 2 Tbls. Sugar ½ tsp. Salt 3 Tbls. Oil Mix ingredients with a non-reactive “stirrer” (I use a wooden spoon or a silicon spatula) Mix 1 tsp. of Baking SODA with 1 ounce of warm water. Fold into batter. Use IMMEDIATELY. LC - Down to once a week therapy. Thanks for the ask. BTW - I hate both you and Maggot. Syrup braggarts!

I made a recipe for fish the other night, 2 1⁄2 cups of milk, garlic salt, parsley, 2 eggs and mix it all together, and then dip lightly in flower and fry.. However I tasted more fish than anything, I dont think I did it right.. Any ideas on a good seasoning mix to fry fish???
Edit: also added salt and pepper

Old Bay is an excellent old standby. use flour and cornmeal mixed for a good crust. but don't overdo seasonings. don't use flowers. hahaha
fresh fish shouldn't be overwhelmed with other flavors.

Yes I was going to add old bay, but I didn't and dont know why... I do have a recipe for everyone to try if the like... Talipia 1 cup of flower about 3 tbls of Old bay 1 or 2 tblsp of salt and pepper and mix it all together ( thats rhymes, lol) Fry the fish... In another pan... Lemon juice Butter Fresh chopped garlic Parsley Add together in a low heated skillet, All of the above ingred. are to taste. I dont have a specific amount but I can tell you, you should taste a bit more lemon that butter.. Also make rice and steamed brocoli and then top it with the fish and add the sauce! ITS SOOO GOOD! |
