I would say take it with a grain of salt, but chances are pretty good that she is now cooperating, and methinks she will be rolling over on Baker pretty soon, if she hasn't already.
adam baker has asked that the Australian consulate be notified of his arrest in the US.
the Aussie Consulate will NOT bail him out or provide him with money or an attny.
The Australian Government cannot get you out of jail.

Authorities headed back to Caldwell County Monday in their search for missing 10-year-old Zahra Baker.
Despite a search by several law enforcement agencies and a surprise appearance by Zahra's stepmother, Elisa Baker, at one point, authorities turned up nothing.
The Caldwell County Sheriff's Office FBI, SBI and the Hickory Police Department searched an area of Caldwell County off Dudley Shoals Road near Burns Road from daybreak Monday until about 5:35 p.m. Nearly a dozen cars were at the scene, as well as SBI and FBI lab vans.
Law enforcement searched a heavily wooded area near a waterfalls, but the search seemed to center more toward the stream at the foot of the falls and closer toward the road. The brush is dense in that part of the area, and the stream is about 15 feet across and contains large rocks. During parts of the search, some members of law enforcement could be seen peering over the side of the bridge from the road, inspecting the work searchers were doing below.
Law enforcement closed off Dudley Shoals Road from Burns Road to just past Dudley Shoals Baptist Church to better aid their search efforts on Monday.
"We're following up on leads Hickory gets in our county,'' said Alan Jones, sheriff of Caldwell County. "We've gotten several leads.''
He acknowledged that several have not panned out, but said any lead is important.
Jones did not say what, specifically, investigators were looking for, just that they were looking for "different parts of evidence.''
Investigators left just before dusk without finding Zahra, despite her stepmother, Elisa, being at the scene. Elisa arrived at the search of the woods in a SUV at about midday, but did not get out of the car. She stayed for only a short time, before the SUV left.
However, according to an official at the Catawba County Detention Center, Elisa, 42, did not return to the jail until about 6 p.m. Information about where she went after she left the search site was not available.
We live in America. If that's the kind of law enforcement you would like to have in your community I'd suggest moving to China or pick a place, any place, in the Middle East.
interesting areas of expertise... such as arson, false confessions, cadaver dog experts, forensic psychology etc. she seems to concentrate on finding the "right" experts (i.e. paid gunslingers for the defense) for her clients.

I really believed if we went back to the public hangings on court squares.It would stop some of the future child abuse and murders..
When potential criminals, only see the welfare housing spectrum of going to prison as a deterrent, it is a given they will commit the crime.
In Zahra's case, if daddy was hung, and step mom beheaded, it would bring twofold into the equation. Non citizens would think twice about coming here and committing crimes, and women might be less apt to become step mothers of children they don't care anything about.

I'm just hung up on being the better person. *shrug* I know most don't give a damn about that sort of thing but, I don't care about them, I care about me and how I feel & what's important to me.
they took elisa baker out of jail on another field trip today. my opinion--deal is on the table for certain.

HICKORY, N.C. (AP) -- The stepmother of a missing 10-year-old girl is cooperating with investigators who are searching in rural North Carolina for the disabled child or evidence in her disappearance, police said Tuesday.
Elisa Baker, the stepmother of Zahra Clare Baker, has been talking with investigators after her lawyer approached police offering her help, said Maj. Clyde Deal, deputy police chief in Hickory where the child was reported missing Oct. 9.

In a pair of press releases from the Hickory Police Department, Elisa Baker, along with her attorneys Lisa Dubs and Scott Reilly, has been providing information to Hickory Police Department and the investigation team of the Zhara Baker case since Sunday. This information and all other leads are being followed up by the investigation team.
Also, investigators seized a mattress at the Foothills Environmental, Caldwell County Landfill today after employees discovered this mattress when they were re-grading the area that was searched last week. Misinformation is circulating that Zahra Baker’s remains were found stuffed in a mattress during today’s search on Christie Road in Hudson.
Hickory Police Chief Tom Adkins said there is no truth to the rumor. He said investigators have not found Baker’s remains.
A matress was found today at the Caldwell County landfill where investigators have spent several days searching. The mattress contains "This mattress possessed DNA evidence that will be tested in the future to confirm if it is involved with this investigation," according to a Hickory police press release.
Adkins confirmed that Baker’s stepmother Elisa Baker has been cooperating with police and providing them with information through her attorneys, Lisa Dubs and Scott Reilly.

Thanks Edge...i have been hearing that rumor for a couple days also. but i don't believe it either. you would see medical examiner wagon and a tent etc. if they found anything like that.
i really appreciate hearing the stories going around the local area; even though most can be discounted, it's interesting to read the locals' thinking.
You would think that the Stepcunt would have led investigators to ONE place-the place where she dumped the kid. I'm assuming the dumping ground is where they're searching now though. If the kid is in those woods, surely she's decomposed by now and her bones will be scavenged and scattered . That should make for a long crime scene search. Ugh. I've had to search for adult bones and I know how long that can take. I can't imagine how long it would take for a child's skeleton. I just hope they find her soon and get the ball rolling against those two said excuses for parents.

CALDWELL COUNTY, N.C. – Hickory police confirmed that they have seized a mattress found at the Caldwell County landfill that fits the description of one they were looking for in connection with the Zahra Baker disappearance. Police say employees at the landfill discovered the mattress in the area that was searched by officials last week.
Police say they also found DNA evidence on the mattress and will be testing the DNA to see if the mattress is involved with the Zahra Baker investigation.
Meanwhile, over a dozen investigators aided by canine units combed a new search site near Christie Road and Pine Mountain Road.
Evidence markers dot the search site. According to police, those markers don’t necessarily mean evidence has been found at the site, but instead they let investigators know which grids they have searched and which areas they still need to search.
