From what I have heard from sources close to Tim Curtis:
  • He and "Rev" had disagreements in the ministry. Timmay went to start his own church in Lenoir. A quick search of the State Secretaries website shows that he used what appears to be a residential address for his church. The church website: http://www.amazinglovechurch.com ; says that they meet at the Caldwell County Library. Compare that with what is said on the churches Facebook page and Dr Timmay says that the library is letting them use the space for free. How great is that? Tax payer funded religious service!
  • Timmay apparently has rented space from the same people that "Rev" lists on his churches articles of encorporation. If you do a street view from Google maps it looks like it is a two storey building. May be they have separate offices?
  • Timmay tells everyone that he is disabled because of a car accident from 2008. He has a website for a business he calls Notary North Carolina: http://www.notary-nc.com ; Apperently he is working under the table or trying to avoid detection. Today a friend told me that he is also trying to sell insurance and pre paid legal plans. See the photo below.

I have more information that I am not ready to go public with yet. I am trying to make sure that I have all of my facts together.

BlueTiki, unfortunately I think they have found a loop whole in the law. Check out this link: http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/p1828.pdf ; Look at page 3 (witch is page 5 of the file):

Automatic Exemption for Churches
Churches that meet the requirements of IRC section 501©(3) are automatically considered tax exempt and are not required to apply for and obtain recognition of tax-exempt status from the IRS.
