Supporters of missing mom Michelle Parker's ex-fiance create Facebook page to raise money

ORLANDO, Fla. — Missing mother Michelle Parker hasn't been seen in more than three weeks, and now supporters of her ex-fiance, the main suspect in her disappearance, have set up a Facebook page to raise money for him.

Friends of Parker's ex-fiance, Dale Smith Jr., said he's been at home caring for the young children he has with Parker, and has not worked for two week. According to the Facebook page, titled Friends and supporters of Dale Smith, things are getting tight for Smith and friends are pitching in to help.
To date, supporters on the Facebook page claim they have raised nearly $220, which is far less than what friends and family raised in their search for Parker over the weekend.

Parker's family held another fundraiser at The Barn in Sanford, aimed at raising more money for the search for the 33-year-old mother.

"Every morning when I wake up I open my eyes, I look at the ceiling and I say, 'God, what am I supposed to do now," said Parker's mother Yvonne Stewart. "We want her home. She didn't ask for this."
As the search for Parker continues, so do the fundraising efforts. Most of the money Parker's family has raised will go into a trust fund for her three kids, while some of it will help in the search for her.
“We are not going to quit searching until we find her. I have been telling you this from day one. We are not going to quit,” said Stewart.
But, WFTV spoke with an expert who said Parker's family will now have to put as much effort into financial planning as fundraising, or Smith could make a case for the cash raised.

"If the money is just sitting in a bank account, now it's open to interpretation," said Robert Palmer, a financial expert and the host of "Saving Thousands" on WDBO. "He may have some type of claim to say the money was for the kids, 'I am their guardian, that's the money I need to use.'"

He said the family needs a reputable accountant and a charitable trust.

After reading the Facebook page, one of the commenter’s stated that suspects are NOT ALLOWED to search for the victim. FUNNY STATEMENT, in my opinion. Because he NEVER DID HELP search for her, even before he was a suspect. SO what was his excuse then??

Novelist Michael Peterson will get a new trial in the death of his wife because a key investigator misled jurors about the strength of bloodstain evidence, a judge ruled Wednesday.

Peterson was convicted of first-degree murder in the 2001 death of Kathleen Peterson, who was found at the bottom of a bloody staircase in the couple's mansion. Peterson has maintained his wife died in an accidental fall.

Four of Peterson's children were in the front row of the courtroom when the judge announced his decision. He blew them a kiss as several members if the family sobbed with joy.

(CNN) -- Five bodies have been found in a Virginia trailer home, a local sheriff confirmed Friday.

The people were found dead near Gargatha, on the state's eastern shore, Accomack County Sheriff Tom Goldwin said. The location is on the Delmarva Peninsula.

Godwin said his office received an emergency call about an attempted suicide Thursday afternoon and responded. Investigators are at the scene and are probing the deaths.

I'm hearing that a man estranged from his wife killed her, their two children and the wife's friend who owned the mobile home, then took his own life.

The small mobile home with a rusted roof is located along a dirt road in a remote wooded area of the Eastern Shore near the Maryland line. It's among a handful of mobile homes in the area and investigators were still processing the crime scene late Friday morning.

"We've been there since six o'clock. It's been a long night," Godwin said.

Investigators were attempting to identify the victims. Their bodies were taken to the medical examiner's office in Norfolk.

Omar Colon Matias, who said he was a brother of one of the victims, said the dead were his 27-year-old sister, her 9-year-old daughter and 11-year-old son and the children's father. A friend of the sister whose mobile home she was living at was also dead, Matias said.

Matias said his sister never married her children's father and that the two had recently had disputes over the children's custody. She was not living with her children's father, Matias said.

"My sister was a good person. She was a beautiful person. She don't have no problem with nobody. She help everybody to translate," Matias said. "There's one thing about sister, she would help everybody."

New York City police have arrested the man they believe burned a 73-year-old woman to death by dousing her in gasoline and setting her on fire in the elevator of her Brooklyn, New York, apartment.

Jerome Isaac, 47, is reportedly a disgruntled handyman who was angry over a $300 unpaid bill. He was charged this afternoon with first-degree murder and arson, hours after he turned himself in to police reeking of gasoline.


(CNN) -- Police in New York are looking for a man who doused a woman with a flammable liquid and lit her on fire, killing her, in the elevator of a Brooklyn apartment building Saturday.

Neighbors said the woman was returning home to her fifth floor apartment in Prospect Heights after a grocery store trip.

When the elevator arrived, the man -- dressed as an exterminator -- sprayed her with an unidentified liquid, set her alight and then fled, police said.

Residents told CNN affiliate WCBS they heard screams and saw smoke -- and realized a woman was on fire inside the elevator.

"Myself and someone from the sixth floor went down knocking to get people out. Knocking on doors telling people 'There's a fire, get out, get out," a resident named John told the station. He did not want to give his last name.

Neighbor Carmen Martinez told the station that the victim was a woman in her 60s who had lived in the building since the 1980s.

"She used to give toys and gifts to kids all the time," Martinez told the station.

His face horribly charred from his alleged gasoline attack on a beloved Brooklyn mom, Jerome Isaac was jailed without bail yesterday, as the woman’s devastated family pressed the DA to lock him up for life.

“I know this is the defendant’s first offense, but the depravity of this one single act is beyond my description,” prosecutor Kenneth Taub told Judge John Hecht at the monster’s arraignment on murder and arson charges for torching Delores Gillespie, 73, in the elevator of her Prospect Heights building Saturday.

“The evidence of this particularly heinous and brutal murder is beyond question,” Taub said of the gruesome attack, which was caught on surveillance cameras.

“When he was arrested, he was reeking of accelerant . . . The burns on his body are consistent with the images.”

Isaac, 47, did not speak as he shuffled into court in handcuffs and a white jumpsuit.

His lawyer, Howard Tanner, did not ask for bail or a psychiatric examination.

Gillespie’s relatives have said they want want Isaac to spend the rest of his life in a cage for allegedly killing their matriarch, who’d offered him work as a handyman only to see him repay her generosity by stealing her DVD player and pots and pans.
