Fox news
Police are searching for a popular Las Vegas dancer who was last seen leaving her home a week ago.
Debora "Debbie" Flores Narvaez, 31, a cast member of Luxor's "Fantasy" show, disappeared after leaving her Las Vegas home at approximately 7 p.m. on Dec. 12.
Investigators reportedly found the woman's car -- a maroon 1997 four-door Chevrolet Prism -- parked in the city's northeast section on Thursday. Family members told FoxNews.com that the car's Maryland license plates had been removed.
Flores Narvaez, who was born in Puerto Rico and lived with her family in Baltimore, Md., relocated to Las Vegas two years ago to pursue a dancing career. An accomplished performer, Flores Narvaez worked as an "ambassador" for the Washington Redskins Cheerleaders in 2007 and 2008, according to her MySpace page, and auditioned for the hit series, "So You Think You Can Dance." Her profile also says that she holds advanced degrees in law and business.
"She is so kindhearted," Asia Bosley, a family friend, said in an interview Sunday. "She would give the shirt off her back for anybody."
"She was dedicated to dancing," added friend Leo Castro. "If she's a friend to you, she'll be a friend forever."
Flores Narvaez was last seen Dec. 12 leaving her home to visit her ex-boyfriend, identified by family members as Jason "Blu" Griffith. The woman was reported missing two days later by one of her roommates after she failed to show up for rehearsal.
Celeste Flores, the woman's sister, told FoxNews.com that Griffith, a Las Vegas dancer, has been uncooperative in providing the family with detailed information.
"I am the only one out here on behalf of my family and he doesn't want to sit down and talk to me," Flores said, "There are many inconsistencies."
Flores said Griffith told her in a phone conversation last week that the young woman visited his home around 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 12, and that the two spoke briefly at his front door.
"He told me that she said she’s been depressed for the past couple of days because it was the holidays and she wasn’t around her family," Flores said.
"He also said she was sleeping in her car the past couple of nights," which Flores said was "unlike" her sister.
"Debbie was kind of private when it came to her personal life," Flores added, "but I understand from almost all of her friends that her relationship with Blu made her upset a lot."
Griffith could not be reached for comment when contacted Sunday by FoxNews.com.
Flores Narvaez is described as Hispanic, 5-foot-5 and weighing 120 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes.
Investigators are urging anyone with information on her whereabouts to contact the Las Vegas Police Department at 702-828-2907.
Blu Griffith is the ex-boyfriend of missing Vegas showgirl Debbie Flores-Narvaez, and reportedly the last person to see her before she disappeared on December 12. Authorities are actively investigating the case after finding her abandoned car last week.
Apparently Debbie sent her mother, who lives in Georgia, a strange text less than 2 weeks before she went missing. The text read (via People.com): "In case there is ever an emergency with me, contact Blu Griffith in Vegas. My ex-boyfriend. Not my best friend."
Debbie's mother asked her what the text meant, and she received this reply: "Never mind, mommy. Just keep it for your records."
Blu, an aspiring rapper, allegedly told Debbie's sister she stopped by his home on December 12 briefly, then went to meet up with friends.
AREN'T THEY ALL FUCKING "ASPIRING RAPPERS"? every thug i ever met.
this record is the same name as the ex-boyfriend. i cannot be certain it is same person since there is no booking photo.
but i'm not going to be shocked if this gets reported/connected before too long.
Las Vegas Arrest Record for Jason O Griffith
Inmate Name:
Griffith, Jason O
he is due in court on these charges tomorrow, and she would have been witness. uh oh
The report also stated that Flores was pregnant with Griffith’s child at the time.
The fight left Flores with bruises on both of her legs and chunks of her hair missing.
Griffith is due to appear in court Tuesday to answer to felony coercion charges connected to that incident.
ABC News:
The ex-boyfriend of a Las Vegas showgirl who has been missing for more than a week had previously been arrested for abusing the dancer, Las Vegas police told ABC News today.
Debbie Flores-Narvaez, a 31-year-old burlesque dancer at the Luxor Casino's "Fantasy" show, hasn't been seen since she failed to show up for work on Dec. 13.
Her ex-boyfriend, Jason "Blu" Griffith, is cooperating with the current investigation into his ex-girlfriend's whereabouts and is not considered a suspect, police said.
Griffith was arrested on October 22 in Clark County, Nev. He is accused of domestic violence against Flores-Narvaez.
He was charged with one count of domestic-violence-related battery, a misdemeanor, and one count of coercion, which is a felony, according to Officer Jay Rivera of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
Rivera said he couldn't discuss the circumstances surrounding Griffith's October arrest, citing the ongoing nature of the alleged domestic violence case. Griffith is scheduled to appear on the charges tomorrow in Las Vegas Justice Court.
"Bring her home. Let her go. Let us know something. What is it that you want?" Celeste Flores-Narvaez said in an open plea for her sister's return.
Police found her car in a parking lot in the northwest section of the city and are now conducting forensic testing. Investigators reportedly found a purse, or makeup bag, in the back seat.
"I just wish an officer could've come out, and somebody could've found her address from her license plate," her friend Theresa Howey said.
actually, her sister is frantic. i've seen her several times.
KLAS8 News today:
LAS VEGAS -- The family of a missing Las Vegas dancer has more questions about her disappearance. The last person to see Debbie Flores-Narvaez was her ex-boyfriend, who is also accused of abusing her two months ago.
Las Vegas police detectives updated the case early Tuesday.
Jason "Blu" Griffith told police Flores-Narvaez came to his apartment and left after a few minutes. Police say he is only a person of interest because he saw Flores-Narvaez the night she disappeared.
This fall, Flores-Narvaez was pregnant with his child, but police don't know if she still was last week. They also said there is no evidence of foul play.
"Every missing person case has a potential to have foul play there. She may have left on her own, however, and we're taking this and treating this very seriously. At this point, we're going to look at every aspect of this investigation as if there was foul play. But at this point, we haven't found any indication of foul play," said Metro Lt. Rob Lundquist.
Griffith has a history of violence. Back in October, he and Flores-Narvaez got into a fight and according to the police report, he took her iPhone, pushed her to the ground, kicked her and pulled her hair. She had bruises on her legs and lost a chunk of hair, but Griffith denied the abuse.
He was arrested and charged with domestic violence and coercion. He did not show up for a court appearance Tuesday and his preliminary hearing on the domestic violence charge is set for April of 2011.
HE WAS A NO-SHOW IN COURT, WHY DIDN'T BENCH WARRANT ISSUE??
edit later: his lawyer showed up in court. got the continuance.
HLN just reported that Vegas police are now calling griffith a "person of interest".no shit.
and also that the girl had financial problems/liens against her.
further, that she had 3 orders of protection (restraining orders) taken out against her by 3 different men.
i haven't seen any reports about that yet.

the reports saying she graduated law school are not true. she quit after one year.
her sister and friends appearing on TV and refusing to say anything that might reflect poorly on her reputation aren't helping. it fuels speculation. they are quite evasive when asked questions.
ABC
It turns out that Flores-Narvaez herself has been in legal trouble. Her criminal record indicates she had faced disorderly conduct and harassment charges. Court documents obtained by ABC News also show that four people had requested protective orders against her and three of the requests were granted.
She is also facing serious financial difficulties. Court documents showed that numerous liens and judgments totaling tens of thousands of dollars had been filed against her.
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) – Action News has learned that police have searched the home of Jason Griffith, the ex-boyfriend of missing Las Vegas dancer Debbie Flores-Narvaez.
So far police have not called Griffith a suspect and are not discussing what, if anything, was found in his home.
She is/was pretty. I think she could do/have done better.
I hope she's alive and just ran away somewhere. I know some people disappear out in the desert and are never recovered.

let's just be frank. the guy is repulsive. i despise "jungle fever". julie can sue me.
but i came back to say that it's a big desert out there around Vegas, and the traditional place for all the bodies to be buried. much is hidden out there. i doubt she'll ever be found. she didn't run away and torture her mother and sister like this.

I don't consider my Mom to be racist in any fashion, she's very refined & proper but, if I would have involved myself with a black man, she would have went up in a puff of smoke. Poof.
i wasn't raised a racist or bigot either, but years on the job in jails and on the street dealing with ghetto-mentality drug thug thieving loitering robbing purse-snatching old-women-beating drive-by shooting unemployed multi-baby abandoning welfare gold grille teeth eubonics 'aspiring rappers' with their pants down around their asses created a poor attitude within me. not nice, i know. just realistic. the guys are repugnant to me. sorry.
however, it IS society's fault. right.

Once you are given equality, what you do with your life is entirely up to you.
Not to be too ugly, but could any intelligent person be with a thug like that? Who you choose to spend your life with says just as much about you as it does the other person. There would be no adult victims of repeated domestic abuse if people chose their partners as carefully as they choose their shoes. If shoes hurt my feet, they get tossed. Why keep a man around that hurts you? She had a job so she had a choice.
