Cameo Pettaway Enlarge Cameo Pettaway, who is charged in the murders of a Springfield Township couple, will face the death penalty if he is found guilty of the January slayings.

Mr. Pettaway, 22, was indicted by a Lucas County Grand jury Tuesday on two counts of aggravated murder, one count of aggravated burglary, and two counts of kidnapping.

Mr. Pettaway, whose last known address is 133 Essex Drive in Toledo, was arrested Oct. 10 for his alleged part in the asphyxiation deaths of Lisa Straub and Johnny Clarke, who were found bound with plastic bags over their heads in Miss Straub’s parents’ Longacre Lane home on Jan. 31.

Also charged in the murders is Samuel Todd Williams, 24, of 1626 Kelsey Ave. If convicted, he, too, could face the death penalty.

Mr. Pettaway’s mother, Kenyatta Baker, has told The Blade that the two men are close friends.

it's not only possible, she DID what i typed. this woman whose son drowned was on maytee's page to support her at one time. so maytee used her real name and attacked and accused the woman of being responsible by negligence for her son's death.
i also think maytee has used this woman's real name to send me virus-laden emails at my Mock address. i am still investigating that with slow-ass Yahoo.

Knowing these thoughts I'm having will not be popular, I'm going to put it out here anyway. Regarding some of Maytee's defenders on this site, you have to remember that they are only hearing Maytee's garbage. A few, after posting here have changed their tune alittle after seeing our side of it. I think that the last one might have come around if given a chance. At least, she acknowledged that Maytee needs help. I'm certainly NOT saying that her grief gives her the right to say the things she does. My advice would be for Maytee to get off FB and MOCK. The last poster here could be a very nice person who hears only Maytee's rant's about MOCK. I also, think that alot of us here could be very intiminating . I have college grads in my family who when typing will spell the wrong word (there, their, they're). And I myself , am almost paraniod sometimes about spelling a word wrong. This is a great bunch of people on this thread. Our only concern has been for justice . I am STRONGLY in the Straub camp. Just saying that maybe sometimes it would help to be a litte more forgiving of spelling, sentence structure etc.Contrary to the option that Maytee puts out there, it's obvious that most here (except me) hold jobs and are well schooled. Maytee should be grateful that her son's ambitions and goals are being immortalized. Or at least posted on a regular basis. God only knows why she isn't plastering them all over the 'Justice' site. As a mother, you'd think she'd be proud of her son's words.

Or maybe it's only her words that really matter.

Second Jan 31 murder suspect indicted

TOLEDO, Ohio (WUPW) - Cameo Pettaway of Toledo has been indicted by a Lucas County grand jury in the Jan. 31 double murder of Johnny Clarke and Lisa Straub.

The grand jury has charged Pettaway with two counts of aggravated murder, two counts of kidnapping and one count of aggravated burglary.

An arraignment in Lucas County Common Pleas Court is pending.

Pettaway, 22, was arrested Oct. 10 by Lucas County Sheriff deputies and arraigned on two counts of murder and one count of burglary in Sylvania Municipal Court. Sylvania Municipal Judge M. Scott Ramey set a bond of $2 million on the two murder counts and $1 million on the burglary count.

In addition to Pettaway, 24-year-old Samuel Williams, also of Toledo, was arrested in September in connection with the crime. He entered not guilty pleas to two counts of murder and two counts of aggravated burglary.

Williams was indicted by a Lucas County grand jury Sept. 30.

Mr. Clarke and Ms. Straub were found dead in the basement of a Springfield Township home in the early morning hours of Jan. 31. The 20- and 21-year-old victims died of asphyxiation. Their hands were bound and plastic bags were taped over their heads.

County detectives say they're still looking for more information and they need your help to bring all people involved in the slaying to justice.
