Hi, all. I stumbled upon this site last night somehow. I was all over the net reading a bunch of Casey Anthony stuff (I'm so sick of that mess but I can't stay away) and then some stuff about the Amy Henslee murder (a case that interests me b/c I'm originally from that area of MI) and then got onto this case somehow and now here I am. I think what fascinates me about true crime is the realization, over and over again, that you never really know people. It scares the shit outta me.

The crime forum is the only sane forum in here, there's no telling what you'll come across outside of there, we have no respect for threads, they are derailed all over Mock & a verbal brawl will break out in a New York minute at any time, any place. We've been known to argue about cheese for christssake.

Welcome to Mock!

So tell me...who is RJ and why is he or she your ex?? We love gossip and drama here almost as much as we lead LC to believe we love the crimes here.

I wish I had an exciting back-story to tell. Simply, RJ is my not-soon-enough-to-be-ex-husband. A sexy musician with severe AD/HD who pursued me relentlessly, swept me off my feet, married me, then decided that all that "responsibility stuff" wasn't all it was cracked up to be. It was, like, work!

While I'm bitching, let me add that he didn't think it was a big deal that he could never remember to lock the doors at night, and would leave his truck parked in the driveway, unlocked, with his house keys sitting on the floorboard (cuz "no one would look there", right?)

He also told me my interest in true crime was "weird" and that I should stop reading the news b/c it was making me paranoid. Goddamn right!

Cool..you sound like our kind of member. We will have to just call you ex for short. Many of us are almost stalkish of LC...we have followed her around from forum to forum to keep up with her crime stories.

I don't understand the non-pig interest in crime. If it isn't your job or your family, why get all caught up? Miserable fucking people.

i think it's because it's the ultimate reality show. or 'there but for the grace of God'. or cheap thrills for some. morbid curiosity. and genuine caring for victims. like kids. i know you care about the kids.

But I always wish I didn't know.

I like piggies. Unless I get a ticket. Then I think they are all dicks for about a month.

I find it a little amusing how people get all up-in-arms about a few spare murders and yet we let people in this country starve and freeze to death every day. I guess some people are invisible.

I kinda feel the same way about bathroom fixtures, wall covering and flooring. Unless, of course, you are a plumber or a home-flipper.

Welcome . . . groupie. At least you didn't break up his band.

My non-pig interest in true crime is due to my probably-mistaken belief that the more I know about it, the less of a potential victim I can make myself.

I just want to pop in and say I once got a ticket for speeding from a cop named Adam Swallows. He had no sense of humor. At. All.

The best thing you can do for yourself to reduce your risk is to become fat and ugly and poor. Then you are much safer. OR, if that doesn't work for you: Don't do crack. Don't hang out with gang members. Don't write to convicts in prison. Lock your doors. Stay out of bars. Don't flaunt your money. Don't dress like a whore.

Ha! No, but in our early days I once sat with a table of girls that I'd seen many times previously at my husband's gigs. Thinking I was being "helpful", I made mention that "...you know all these guys are married, right?" (Yes, I was that naive.) I got a stern talking-to that night! After a few other blunders (and earning the nickname Yoko) I finally learned to keep my nose out of all that band business. I should've taken a clue from the other band wives who never showed up.

Yeah, men hate it that we were blessed with holes at each end.
