They should be facing charges simply because they don't know what happened to a child, in their care.
Absolutely agree with you 100%!!!
Exactly, if nothing else there should be neglect charges. I have a 16 month old; can he reach the door knob-absolutely, can he unlock the door- if tries hard enough, can he open it? Nope!
Was this family allegedly sleeping when Joshua went missing? Where does the baby sleep? Apparently not in a crib...
no, not sleeping. 9 people in the trailer. mom watching TV in bedroom, dad watching a game on TV. i don't recall if the baby had a bed or crib.
NEW BRAUNFELS — A circle of people formed in the front yard of Joshua Davis Jr.’s family home Saturday afternoon.
Holding hands, about 50 community members prayed for the baby’s safe return and for the family’s peace of mind.
“We are looking for reconciliation within the community and the parents,” said LaTondra Darnell, New Creation Christian Fellowship Church care group leader. “Even when the police have moved the search to a recovery, we are coming together to find baby Josh.”
The 18-month-old toddler has been missing since Feb. 4 from Savannah Hill Circle in New Braunfels, despite dog teams’ continuous search efforts.
Community members, as well as members of Joshua’s family, met at the family home Saturday to organize small search parties, stepping up the investigation themselves. Five groups of about 10 people prepared to pass out hundreds of fliers in the New Braunfels and San Marcos areas.
“We came out to give support and see if we could help out in some way,” said Ricky Vigil of Seguin. “We’ve been watching the story this whole time. It’s a very sad situation.”
Michelle Griffin, family friend, said the family is going through a spiritual battle.
“The police are saying they are no longer taking tips,”WHICH SPEAKS VOLUMES TO ME. “The lines have been jam packed with leads.”
Griffin said the family organized Saturday’s search party to follow up on leads the police have not investigated.
“We’re passing out fliers, and five or six vans will load up people and take them to different places,” Griffin said.
no, the baby is not making a gang sign like some armchair detectives have suggested.
A new photo of Joshua Davis Jr., taken just hours before his disappearance, has been released by New Braunfels Police. The toddler went missing one week ago when he presumably wandered out of his home in the 26-hundred block of Savannah Hill Circle. The photo released yesterday pictures the boy in the exact clothes he was wearing the night he disappeared.
When my son was 16 months old he opened the back door and went outside. But, as an attentive parent, I wasn't far behind him. After that scare, I put alarms on every door and window in my house, just in case. But, in a trailer with 9 people? Really, they know something.
I don't suffer from insanity. I enjoy every minute of it.
sorry, i don't see a billboard making any difference. any more than candlelight vigils. that's just a cynical cop opinion. i was reading the mother on a facebook, she writes like one of those hoodrats in the Ohio thread. someone in that trailer killed this baby, and i have my suspicions about who. then covered it up. poor baby. :(
i also saw it reported that her new baby was removed by children's services. i cannot vouch for that report.

NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas - A new tool is being used in the search for a missing New Braunfels toddler -- a roadside billboard.
Joshua Davis has been missing since early February, and police said they hope having the 18-month-old's face displayed on a busy roadway will help bring him back home.

I went to her FB page & see that someone posted a comment under a picture of the little boy " lil thug dressed all in black" I would never call any child, much less one that is missing & most likely not even on this earth anymore a "lil thug" Please someone take away all of these ignorant assholes privilage to have children! Calling a child a thug is not cute. It's disgusting!

what it means is diddly-squat.
the police know what happened, are trying to prove it, and are not going to show their hands.
I have to say I wonder if there were drugs in the home, and little Joshua got into them. Hiding his body well enough for advanced decomp could cloud a COD enough to absolve (or they hope...) them of 'guilt'.

NEW BRAUNFELS-- The parents of a missing New Braunfels toddler are pleading for your help to find their son.
Sabrina Benitez and Josh Davis are reaching out to the community in hopes that someone can provide information about the whereabouts of their son.
"It breaks my heart. Every day it feels like part of me is missing. I'm empty without him," Benitez said about her son, 18-month-old Joshua Davis Jr.
The two clutched Joshua's favorite blanket as they begged for someone to come forward.
"I miss waking up to his kisses and going to sleep with him in my arms. I sleep with his blanket every night in my arms. I sleep with it and pretend like it's him I'm holding," she said.
Joshua disappeared from the family home 67 days ago, on February 4th. Police believed the child may have wandered off from the home that night, however, search dogs never picked up a scent of the child. Investigators have not ruled out that possibility, or the possibility that the child was abducted. No sign of the child has been found. They say, at this point, everyone remains a person of interest.
A $22,000 reward is offered for any information about where Joshua may be. You can call Comal County Crime Stoppers at (830) 620-TIPS.
Still nothing on this case either. So upsetting, so many strange things going on & no resolutions to the cases. This innocent child deserves to be found & whoever is responsible for his disappearance deserves to rot.
It's the hint of arsenic that gives it that extra kick.
I still think of this little guy quite often. I just don't understand how someone can live w/the knowledge of what happened to Joshua & not come forward.
