i would have driven him home just for the laugh too probably...but he screwed up by not following a direct order to lower the thing. that's when the cop had no choice. still funny as hell.

i have no idea whether anyone does that. i didn't do traffic, but it may be part of some dept.s field test. i think it's understood many couldn't do it sober. even forwards. hahahahaha
erratic driving, walking a line, smell on breath, gibberish...all good enough to bring them to the jail for a breathalyzer. and there is a pocket size breathalyzer that can be done right in the sally port, requires a nurse to do it and read it, for legal reasons. if warranted, we have a big standard machine inside for further testing.
