I heard a doctor say that if you hit a kid when you are angry that you are just getting revenge. If you give a few licks to deter dangerous or horribly rude behavior, that is different. I don't use physical force often, and never when angry, so there is no way it can be considered abuse by a reasonable person.

I do admit I'm the first one to raise fucking hell, even in public, if I see someone hit a baby (two and under and you can get away with whatever you want with Cracker). You should never hit a baby. Three years old and fast enough to run, fair game for a pop on the bottom. Never more than 3 licks. You only get the smack on the noggin when you hit 13 and get all mouthy.

Some kids are naturally even tempered and sweet and never require corporal punishment. Some kids are ornery as shit and need to know who runs the show. To me, the worst kind of abuse is raising a fucked up bratty kid. Life won't be kind to them.

I've only had to raise the mama hand once in the last few years. Little one learned the word "tits" from the older one. Only had the chance to say it once. I hit both of them.
